You want David Ngog we want Gary Cahill . Bolton's Cahill close to Anfield switch with Ngog going the other way. Kenny Dalglish is closing in on a deal to bring Bolton defender Gary Cahill to Anfield. The Liverpool boss has spent all summer chasing the defender and is now close to offering a player-plus-cash deal for Cahill and beat title rivals Arsenal to the signing in the process. Dalglish is set to offer £10million plus striker David Ngog and young hitman Raheem Sterling, 16, on loan to clinch Cahill the deal. Wanted man: Gary Cahill is being targeted by Liverpool The defender hit a wonder goal on the opening day of the season as his side thrashed QPR 4-0 at Loftus Road. Bolton boss Owen Coyle insists Cahill is going nowhere. But the club could be willing to cash in if they want to add new faces to their own squad before the window shuts. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has £40m to spend after the sale of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona. Liverpool have already been told by Stoke boss Tony Pulis that £14m-rated Ryan Shawcross, another of their defensive targets, is not for sale. Dalglish has already spent more than £100m since returning to the Anfield hot seat. But he is keen to swoop again as he bids to make up ground on Manchester United, City and Chelsea. first off the echo does a piece that totally rubbishes this today. 1. n'gog deal has no bearing on cahill. 2.steling is 16... SIXTEEN he cannot sign pro forms for us until 17 so WHY would he go to bolton. thats is ridiculous the echo story is far more likely to be true than that daily fail article. oh and be fully expectant that arsenal v liveprool = multiple stories i nfirday ands taurdays papers baout us fighting for dann, chaill, mata etc.
I definitely think Cahill will move in this window. Why? Cos Bolton HAVE to sell him , hes got less than 12 months left.So that means the fee for the transfer is likely to closer to £10m or lower than £15m.Rumours of £15m + Ngog are just way off the mark.I can see us signing Cahill for about £8-10m + Ngog on deadline day.The later we leave it , the more the price will go down.We may/will have competition from Arsenal though, thats what is keeping the price up a bit , the fact that there is more than 1 interested party. As for Sterling, theres no chance of that,Spearing is more likely to go on loan
If it were true- is Stirling good enough to play any games for Bolton's first team yet? Be terrible if it were true and Stirling had a "buy-clause".
This is a load of nonsense. Raheem Sterling cannot join anyone until after his 17th birthday as he's still on school-boy terms. He hasn't signed professional. Secondly Kenny has said that David Ngog will not go anywhere until after he's found a replacement. I'm still unsure as many are if Kenny actually wants him to go as of yet. Kenny has made it quite clear that he does not have to sell players, he said he has been told by the owners to spend money regardless of who goes out. As an earlier poster said, the echo is more reliable media source.
Sterling can't be signed on loan because he can't sign pro forms, if you do not have a professional contract you cannot play a professional football match, what would Bolton gain by loanin a YTS trainee who can only play reserve matches? The only reason he has a squad number was to improve the general morale of the lads in the academy, it's like "Look, this guy has a squad number, if you train hard you can have one too" Aside from that.... this article reeks of Football Manager
bozz thats not quite true. you ca play a first team game at 16, but not for someone you go on loan to i think. There are exmaples of kids younger than 17 playing for thier clubs. the whole rumour has been made up to wind lads up. It was written and printed before our kids got beaten by lisbon... like the guy who made it up knew sterling would come out of that looking brillinat (which he did) and decided to stick him into a rumour to wind us up. You only need look at the bbc gossip section to see the unmentionable that prublished it and seeing its also in the daily fail just proves its a certain news group with an agenda.
Can't see this happening well not as described in the original post anyway, i think if we were going to bid for Cahill then throwing in N'gog might be a viable option as Bolton seem to have an interest in him, but i can't see Sterling being included as i don't think it would really be of benefit to either club. He certainly looks a talented player but what benefit would Bolton get from signing him on loan at 16 i can't really see them using him on a regular basis if at all so its not like he could become a sturridge style loan signing for them and for us it would be a big risk that he might get injured from playing in the prem so young.
isnt it if your on a school boy contract you can leave when and where u like? the club has no contractual hold on the playe they just get a fee for the potential.
£10 mil? **** off, N'Gog is £5 mil maximum which would make £12mil +. Also, we don't want another person on loan, we've just got Tuncay on loan! Though it is the Daily Mail.
Skylarker doubt it bolton are a pretty decent outfit and as an everton fan fear they could over take us they will be battling with spurs everton liverpool sunderland for 5th spot in my eyes.
Bolton4Europe ahah you need to change your name then and be a bit more positive i think you havea really good side this season as u did last just ran out of steam towards the end, you willk be a real threat and a hard game for every team this season. but thats just my opinion i think you and the clubs mentioned will be in the mix for 5th but 4 doesnt go into one so will be intresting to see who gets it.
