Good into town and see the drunks in the cheap pubs. The ones I frequent that are about £3,50 ish are populated by people that aren't as rat arsed.
And that's the price I said the beer should be at the food festival, not a £5 a pint. But the usual gang on here shouted me down.
I Feel Love LGBT 50 concert live from Hull City Hall currently on the Red Button on BBC if anyone's interested.
To Hull and back… Poking fun at Hull needs to stop. Having spent a fabulous weekend by the Humber estuary I can safely say that the tired old cliché that heads this piece can be retired. It’s time to celebrate the 2017 City of Culture… My visit to Hull ticked several boxes. It was a mini-break, some work, plus an opportunity to catch some culture in and around a proud old city that has taken some serious knocks over the years. And before we start, let’s be honest: hands up anyone that chuckled, scoffed or rolled their eyes when Hull was announced as this year’s city of culture? Well, read on and weep… https://jules-hornbrook.com/2017/07/30/to-hull-and-back/

Finally a (re-)issue of this lost LP. It's the first time on CD, I think, and is available as single and double CD and LP. please log in to view this image
Cornucopia Festival · Cornucopia is an amazing family friendly festival, such a wonderful community, so many good friends, magical venue, superb blend of music, comedy and art. We think this year's line up is one of our best ever, but despite strong early bird ticket sales and a huge marketing effort the overall sales have been affected by the large increase in the number of free events on offer in the region this year. As responsible organisers we have with heavy hearts had to take the difficult decision to withdraw the event this year. All ticket monies will be refunded or if you wish carried over to 2018 early birds. Huge love and thanks to all our volunteers, artists and supporters who make it all worthwhile. John, Rupert and Anita
It's a really good idea, promoting the City in this way. I hope the weather there is better than it is here today.
The Mother-in-law's back from Edinburgh John and it turns out that the weather was just the same soggy bottom as it is here. She had a fantastic time though and she's still buzzing from it. The highlight of the her time there was when all the volunteers sang 'We're only here for the culture, here for the culture'. She's far from the stereotypical Mother-in-law and said she had tears in her eyes at that point. She's 70 and puts me to shame. To the volunteers
Any excuse: I saw six men kicking and punching the mother-in-law. My neighbour said 'Are you going to help?' I said 'No, Six should be enough. I took my mother-in-law to Madame Tussard's Chamber of Horrors, and one of the attendants said, 'Keep her moving sir, we're stocktaking. I can always tell when the mother in law's coming to stay; the mice throw themselves on the traps. The wife's Mother said, "When you're dead, I'll dance in your grave." I said: "Good, I'm being buried at sea. I haven't spoken to my mother-in-law for two years. We haven't quarreled. I just don't like to interrupt her. Courtesy of the late, great Les Dawson
