Good Morning Everyone please log in to view this image Leeds Utd v Port Vale Wednesday 9th August [email protected] Streaming links to follow Michael Brown returns to Elland Road on Wednesday evening as his Port Vale side face the mighty Leeds Utd in the Carabao Cup. You'd expect there to be plenty of changes with the likes of shaughnessy, Gomez and Peacock Farrell being amongst the names expecting to appear in the starting line up. manchester united left-back Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is eligible to start should he be selected. The 20-year-old, who has made 14 appearances for the Premier League side, spent time on loan with Wolves last season I wonder how many of the other under 23's will feature? It could be a goal fest... Meanwhile young Tyler Denton has joined Michael Brown's side on a season long loan. The 21 year old left back will get plenty of game time in league 2, which will hopefully bolster his progression.
Morning Elland and all. I normally don’t get in the slightest bit interested in league cup as I call it, mainly cos we normally don’t have a squad to rotate and all these competitions do is increase risk of injury or tire players. This season is a bit different though. We clearly have an excellent second eleven who need game time to improve fitness and work their way into the English game. I’m not bothered about the result too much but look forward to seeing what some of these new lads are up to
Morning chaps Agree with everything Eire has said with the one added sentiment that this game is most important because PJs ban ends with a pretty meaningless game
Great chance to probably see Greens last game as I dont see him staying as a No2. Agree with Eire as we have a squad of newbies who need game time. saiz, Klich, Sacko, Dallas, Gomez, CBJ and suspect some will be playing to get in Saturdays starting 11
Morning Klich, Siaz, Double barrel and a number of the U23 recruits should play but we also have to get match fitness up so perhaps a couple of the first team as well. We should win ok.
Will be tougher than most expect,1goal in it IMO.Brown has put together a tough little side, and Michael Tongue will be back with them.If we put out too weak a side a possible upset here.
Tonge scored the other day! Agree they will be tough but I think they will hold us for 60 mins and fold and we will run out 2 or 3 nil winners Morning all
Hope young Tyler stays away from Chopper Brown on the training pitch or he could back at TA on the treatment table next week
Doc if brown can catch him, it's a sign Denton won't make it. Millwall's turnstiles turn faster than brown did in his prime. There are probably giant sloths that can out pace him now.
In other old boy news wooton (remember him?) got sent off and Jason Pearce spat on someone when he was down (I expect a big ban on his way) at the weekend
Is anyone going to the Port Vale game ? I'm always undecided about these league cup games for the obvious reason no one seems to take them seriously. Having said that one of, if not our best performance came in the game at Anfield last season. Will probably decide tomorrow at the last minute but favouring waiting until Saturday for a full house and a full blooded encounter with all on the line. Funny but it really feels like that already with every match and every point being absolutely vital.
