Doesn't matter. 1-0, 2-0, 1-1. It's about the the individual & team performance. Ok, maybe 1% (?) result but it's a learning experience. Leave it there for Pell to debate.
He gets "written off" or "needs replacing" every summer. He doesn't dribble by people, score lots of goals or hit thunderous tackles, so fans don't see what he gives. Yet so many times since he's been here, when Davis doesn't play (or play well), Saints don't play.
Main problem with Davis from what I have seen is......... he is in and out of games frequently. A lot of running around but with long periods with no contact with the ball. However when he is on the ball he looks useful, although fairly good at finding the left wing, not so finding Cedric who was often open on the right. Mainly my observation from yesterdays game.
Even running around occupies pitch space...giving our players options and cutting out possibilities for the opposition. I have never played football (well, twice...but that's another story ), but I know it isn't always about work with the ball.
Davis has been criminally underrated on here for years. Certainly made us tick a lot in that time. He's not a DM though, so I expect he'll be competing with JWP if Mario signs.
Bang on. He reminds me a little of Dean Hammond, underrated , good pro who gives his all. Maybe if we put "inho" at the end of his name, people would notice him more. Great guy off the pitch too.

I've been saying Davis is underrated for years, but even he can't go on forever. IMO his performances last season have not been on the same level and the several good performances were spread far apart.
Everton 2 Sevilla 2 - and the Sevilla starting line was very much the same, different GK and a couple of outfield players. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-vs-sevilla-live-updates-13438203
