Cork was our captain and played virtually every game until he got injured <doh>
That would be Jack cork who made 30 appearances last season. I liked Cork as he gave everything. To be honest I agree with getting rid of Barrow and Cork if they see fit and the manager is happy to let him go and yet you want to keep the biggest non event in the incapable VDH who was poor cause he wasn't given game time, could not the same be said for Barrow or is that different to you. As for buying before you sell, well we bought Messa before we sold Cork was that amateurish. If we get 50m for siggy you can add 10m to any signing of any sort of class. Ask Liverpool who had to pay 35m for Carroll shortly after receiving 50m for Torres. We all know siggy is on his way and even if he doesn't go we still need adequate cover which we don't have at the moment.

As for Guido, seems the board don't agree with you as they saw the sense to get rid of him early enough only to fail miserably by not employing PC at that time.
I stand corrected on Cork , didn't seem like he started much and I 've gone on record as saying I would have liked to keep him . Has that other team you got tickets for starting playing yet Lefty?

Roof, they are a welsh league D2 side, first game is Saturday home to Caldicott. and looking forward. I am managing their u19's in the Welsh development league, so going to be busy. The side is garden Village, wiki them and you should be able to see their results on All wales sports when they start Great standard of good players giving everything and getting a bit firery at times.

Nice ... And Goodluck with the U-19's ....hope you don't get sacked early ( whistling)

Exactly . Is it just me but does it seem like Carroll confidence is growing with his new role taking corners and such and it's rubbing off on his whole game .

Tbh I didn't see anything different from Carroll today as I've seen over a number of games last season. He's been a cracking signing and once he and Mesa gel, they'll be passing the ball around opponents midfields for fun.

Would still like to see him put a couple of pounds of muscle on though.

I'll do that.

Just like Leon

The maths

£15.5m (original cost) + £13m (current value) = £28.5m total transfer fees

£28.5m - £25m (we sold him for) = £3.5m net transfer fees

The question the board has to answer is: Is Bony worth £3.5m?

If reports are true we'll have to be dumber than plankton not to at least put a bid to effectively buy him for £3.5m net.

A leftfield look at this is that we are the only club on the planet who can get a £10m discount on Bony, the maths only works for us.

Could you though play LLorente or Bony and use Abrahams where Ayew played yesterday. so you still have the power and also the mobility, plus goals.

That would mean dropping Ayew, who I thought was one of our better players yesterday. Clement will have a few more selection headaches this year, which isn't a bad thing.

In effect we are already have an extra player in the squad because Baston was, for whatever reason, no use to us.

I thought Ayew tried hard yesterday, but didn't think he played that well. Just thought on times he holds on to the ball to long and slows our attack down. But wouldn't I e a nice problem to have, Even if Ayew is playing well, he may have dips in form, injuries suspensions. I think Abrahams could do what Ayew did yesterday easily, plus he is more likely to nick you a goal than Ayew.
