    Hi guys...............Norwich fan in peace

I have to confess I know very little about Wycombe other than what colour shirts the team wears but quite surprised to see the start you have made with 2 wins & a draw (not to mention beating Col U in the cup) and last nights result against L Orient made my eyebrows raise a bit!

Can Wycombe maintain this form you think?

What constitutes a good season for you?

Hi Thaicanary, the start has been impressive, although not quite 2 wins and a draw in the league but not far off with 2 draws and a win. I think firstly a good season is staying up. However, nothing wrong with aiming higher. The key thing this time I think is a good start, which 2 seasons ago we didnt have, although the fixture computer has been a bit kinder this time. Last time it was Charlton, Norwich and Leeds in the first 3 games.

What is also pleasing is that we are scoring goals, something which we have struggled with in the past so very encouraging at this stage/

I will be happy with 20th come May but mid table would be good!

It made me think, why are we scoring goals in L1 when we couldn't score them in L2? But then it occurred to be that towards the end of last season we were scoring goals, 3 against Bury and 3 against Southend, not bad. Presumably our signings make a difference but, as far as I know, none are from higher leagues so that's quite encouraging. Plus the team is clicking.

Last time we were in L1 we couldn't have got off to a more difficult start and I thought we played exceptionally well against Leeds and Charlton. This year we have done very well against a strong looking Colchester side but Orient are so far without a win and sit at the bottom of the league at present. Maybe they are relegation bound. They almost came down with us if I remember correctly.

Apologies for getting it mixed up, was still very early in the morning for me <laugh>

Only because of my 'relationship' with the Wycombe board on here, I would like to see you have a really good season, 12th or better.
Being a Canary I like to see 'smaller teams' have a good go against the odds <ok>

Hi Thai, thanks for the words of encouragement!

Id echo other thoughts on here - safety is our first aim, anything more than that is a bonus. Im quietly confident we can do better than that but they are a lot of quality teams in this league.

Good luck for the rest of the season and cheers again for sorting the fantasy league.

    All the best. :)

I reckon the gulf between Average Lg 1 teams and good Lg 2 teams is really small tbh Ron. It's interesting to see Bury and Chesterfield haven't had as good starts as us as they were playing much better than us in the second half of last season and have managed to hang on to their star players too. Another example is S****horpe - we thought it was a great result (and it was) against a relegated Chmpship side but they don't currently look like bouncing back up there. There are a few teams that will dominate this season and we all know who they are. The rest is a scrap I think. And when push comes to shove, we'll be doing the shoving.

I think people are giving Preston too much respect. Obviously Charlton, Sheff U, Hudd and maybe Shef Wed will be up there but I wouldn't be surprised to see Preston end up out of the top 10. Most of the teams are pretty even though. Look at Swindon, they nearly got promoted the year we went down and then one season later they were relegated. Bournemouth, Rochdale and Exeter have all shown what is possible for the new teams and I think 5th or 6th is anyone's to grab really.

Sure is. You forgot someone though Rocky - a special mention for the TICKETING F**KWITS who are threatening to undermine possibly our most successful season with a complicated system that im not sure they completely understand. The team is great, the manager is great and the fans who pay inflated prices are great. WWFC Admin - sort it out!

Very true, and that's worth a goal in any match. Also when we go behind the fans still have a feeling of "we can do it lads" which gives them more incentive to cheer on the team. When you have players that start hanging their heads, looking pissed off when a pass goes astray, and/or moaning at each other, that's when the problems start; the crowd won't then get behind them, making matters even worse.

SPIRIT - there's always hope as long as the final whistle hasn't blown. Come on you Blues.
