Starting 11 isn't that bad, just the bench which is ****e

 

I know were all a bit pessimistic at times, but thats actually still a strong starting 11

 

That's a very light midfield with playing two up top.

Strange that Stewart missing, must have a knock. Not bad side though, with attacking intent.

 

Seems like Villa are playing 442 also with Gabby and Hogan upfront. the two XIs look fairly even

 

Could be worked that way but I'd guess it's 442.

 

Surprised - pleasantly - that we've gone 2 up front and an attacking centre mid. Bruce wouldn't have been expecting that.

 

yea, shame stewarts out, but that's a decent starting 11.. but the bench...

 

Not a bad first 11, although I have very little optimism about tonight`s game, football`s a funny old game, and we know from past history, when City are looking unlikely, they more often then not produce something.

 

Good luck to Hull City! There is really huge interest about this starting game in Russia. Several big tv shows about Hull City pre-season under L.S. were released during last days. It's very exciting moment before this game.

 

Lets hope the midfield isn't bypassed again with the big hoof upfront.
If we do, anyone who didn't see the Nantes game, will be in for a shock, like going back 20 years. OOOFFF.

 

There's enough talent left in this squad to be up around the top end of the Championship this year, but it's wafer thin and can't be stretched out any further.

I expect we'll limp along with what we've got until 24 hours before the end of the window when about 4 more loans/freebies will come in to flesh it out, and we'll find out in due course if it's enough.

The one to keep is Clucas, a class act who will get better. Grosicki won't go as he's not as good as he thinks he is. I'd like to see Evandro getting well involved this year but he seems to have fallen off the face of the earth.

1-1 today I think, a decent days work at the Villa.

 

To be fair, I think the Nantes game has been our worst performance this preseason, coming off finishing the Benfica game with 10 men.

 

If we get overrun theres only Meyler on that bench to steady the ship and he's not fully fit.

 

Interested to see how Hernandez and Campbell link up, like to think if they get it right they could cause any defence in this league problems , I'm changing my prediction to 3-3

 

Just realised it's nearly kick off time and we're still by the pool. The kids want to shower and get dolled up before going to the beach bar with a big telly.
