Slightly earlier post but I'm not around until next Wednesday after today. So here is the main bit of info I got for Goodwood.

    Lancelot Du Lac 33/1

Yard confidence couldn't be stronger, this has been the aim all season and Ivory specifically sounded out Frankie for the ride in March. Frankie agreed to ride it then and has stayed true to his word.

Been flying at home and they strongly fancy Lancelot to win, albeit as do most of the other runners yards. But only passing on what I've been told and they're hoping for the win and then that'll lead to Lancelot being retired to stud. And at the price at least we can go each way @ 1/4 1,2,3,4 for cover.

Enjoy the rest of Goodwood lads, hopefully this will get us some early xmas money and speak to ya soon!

Why not make this a forum gamble - I'm on the double also and if it comes in then it's a forum party in Hawaii:)

Nothing like a nice wild sprint handicap, can't beat it. Will have a go myself tomorrow. One thing this year, a heck of a lot of them won't appreciate this very sticky ground? It's the near-side draw that was always an advantage in the past in these conditions, but this year after Wednesday's devastating weather, I dunno. All very odd.

With this ground it's taken away the draw advantage as they have won all over the track! But I wonder if they move the rails back for some fresh ground tomorrow however it will probably just get chewed up by this race

I really like the look of Shanghai Glory at 16/1. You can ignore his last run in the Wokingham as he got badly hampered, and he doesn't act on fast ground.

He's an out and out soft ground horse, and as you can see he's won the last 2 times he's been on soft over 6 furlongs.

He's obviously going to have to run a career best, but at 4 he is still on the upgrade, and with conditions to suit I'm expecting a big run from him.

That one was put up by Andy Mount on GG.Co.uk earlier this week at 40/1. He's not in the best of form at the moment but the price made me take a second look and looks a solid ew bet

He's obviously looked at the race along time before I have, and with all the rain earlier in the week has realised the ground has come in its favour. I've only had a look at the race about an hour ago.

I think the ground is by far the most important factor when looking through sprint handicaps. If a horse has not run well on soft before, then I would completely discount it's chances.

You would have discounted Battaash then Shergs. Only previous run on soft was when 12th behind Ardad last year. Which is why I (stupidly) put up Ardad today. Can't have been that slow today as the time for Battaash was just 58.51s (slow by 1.61s)

I didn't have a bet in today's race, but I did think Battash was the best sprinter in the field after breaking the track record at Sandown LTO. However being honest, I wouldn't have considered backing him on soft looking at that run you mention and his pedigree. That's kind of why I left the race alone. Maybe as you say it might not have been as soft as they said it was.

I think he will beat Lady Aurelia in the Nunthorpe now. I don't often pay much attention to times, but I think if she was a very high class sprinter she'd have broke the course record in the Kings Stand. The 2 races before it were track records, and it had to be the quickest ground the Kings Stand has ever been run on since the redevelopment, so I'll be looking to oppose her based on that, as I think the performance might not be as good as it visually looked.

Poor horse...maybe it's a muslim type horse and they've told it if it wins it goes to stud for lots of virgin fillies????!!!
Otherwise it may struggle being a gelding!!!:emoticon-0138-think:emoticon-0138-think:emoticon-0138-think:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Stand to win a fair bit if it places but have to say that I dont actually fancy it......his stud career prospects look pretty bleak too!

I see the same owner and trainer also run Stake Acclaim with stable jockey on board. Shame Chelsea is not around to fill us in on the word on this fellow...

I actually fancy Donjuan Triumphant each way in this...
