Not wishing to take the point of view of the few I thought I'd look up the quotes and book they love to use as a barricade to cower behind and launch their fear and hate upon this amazing planet we call Earth.

took me 10 minutes to find these among the thousands of similar writings.

    Ephesians 4:32, John 15:12, Luke 6:31, John 4:20-21, Peter 3:8-12, Romans 12:10

Written by different people hundreds of years apart, they all say the same thing, treat EVERYONE as you equal.

The only books I read that have a religious connotation, are,

" God is not great ", by Christopher Hitchens.

" The God Delusion " by Richard Dawkins.

Both very different, yet equally brilliant in dismembering the nonsense that is religion.

Not conciously, probably. The fact that homosexual identical twins brother/sister are usualy not homosexual rules out a genetic link largely. More likely exposure to something traumatic in early life (like Libertarian prowling the streets in drag) triggers development of it.

You are getting more obsessed with me than with Jeremy Corbyn. Time to get a life sonny.

That's simply not true though, the largest study found that over 25% of the sample size were both gay.

There's plenty of studies around epigenetic changes to DNA that occur during life as well, that point towards a genetic reason for homosexuality.

Equating the development of homosexuality to a 'trauma' speaks volumes about your standpoint btw. It always amazes me how so called Christians can often be so vehemently homophobic.

Luckily it hasn't been displaced by the sheer horror of institutional religion.
"how so called christians can often be so vehemently homophobic".

Goes with the territory, but I think muslims are worse.

    Yes it is.
Fry is a highly intelligent and articulate person, and I'm extremely honoured to sit in the same camp as him, Hitchens and Dawkins.
There's no "you must believe what we believe" about them.

It has been my experience that many with a religous background are inherently self rightious, and you only have to look a the historic chapel mentality in Wales, of course not all Christians are such, but too many are, it's cringingly sad.............<ok>

Not half as nutty as the huge audiences they attract.
    The evangelists are just crooks.

I went to an evangelical convention/worship thing once (not my choice). I found it very, very uncomfortable and strange.
I got asked to leave for asking if they had some cheese to go with the wine <laugh>

So usualy they are not gay.

Epigenetic changes are known to be triggered by environmental factors such as chemical exposure, childhood abuse, and stress. = trauma.
