Placepot for Goodwood today: 1:50 - Hold Sway 2:25 - Rich Legacy 3:00 - Barraquero 3:35 - So Mi Dar 4:10 - Veejay 4:45 - Roulette
Had to have a saver on Blond Me in the Nassau at 18s (with hills). Beat Queens Trust last time over 10f on soft, seems to thrive in small runner fields, 1 from 1 at the track. Confidence waining in So Mi Dar, surely too much of an ask to win first time up in this ground
Ron, the signs would be positive. Her sister (Arabian Queen) won a Group 2 on soft and it was good/soft when she won York’s ‘International’. Cosmopolitan Queen is right now showing as the most ‘popular’ bet on Oddschecker - cor blimey the effect of the 'regular readers' should never be underestimated, team. 33’s long gone (yes, admittedly, I know the 3 non-runners will have played there part) and now 11’s the best price.
Bet of the day for me is Endless Time 2.25 Goodwood. 3/1 available with B365 and a few others. By Sea The Stars out of a Fantastic Light mare. Loves the soft. 2nd in 2 G1s in France last year. Only just beaten by Dartmouth and Simple Verse first time out this year. Why she was allowed to run on good to firm over 2.5 miles in her next race I don't know. This is more her distance and ground. Buick rides.
When I saw Tigris River the last day I said to myself that yoke wins the Galway Hurdle so he's my bet. So many been fiddled with to get in with featherweights, not a race I'd go mad on but do think Tigris River has a fair bit up his sleeve...
I think Peregrine Run is the one to be on here as he's been 'educated' since he last met the fav. 6/1 a very fair price too imo. Good luck Beefy!!
In the opener at Goodwood (13:50) had a sporting punt on Sir Michael Stoute's Frontispiece. Poor draw but you never know in these conditions. Breeding suggests he will handle the ground.
Three Galway darts for moi 2.15-Going against a couple of you with Dont Touch It who looks laid out for this and trainer very bullish about this lads chances. 2.50-Knockmaole Boy win 7/2.Up 6lbs for Tuesday's win but might not be enough to stop him going in again. 4.30-Timiyan 10/1 Ew.Coleman over to ride and should go very close, JP great record in this race.
My grandson is watching the racing today and just picked Good Omen in the first. So, I'm going to get him to keep watching and pick one in each race
I wouldn't be surprised to see Lohag step up a bit with the way Joseph O'Brien's have been running. He has a bit to find with Townsend and Peregrine Run but that was only his first run over the big uns.
Got to think this ground will seriously test Winter's unknown stamina over two furlongs further. Problem is who to side with, none of the rest look good enough to beat her IMO.
Beyond me how they continue to get away with filth like this! I hope you are going apologise to all those you have misled
You could say the writing was on the wall when this one doubled in price as the stablemate halved....mmmm....
