Brutal day today, kept ahead of the game only courtesy of a fortuitous 22/1 winner and Desert Skyline placing at 33s. Just the one for me Wednesday: ZELZAL - Goodwood 3:35 - 8/1 I think Ribchester will most likely win this, with the forecast rain a bonus to that one too. But am happy to take a chance each way on Zelzal. Can't see him out of the frame really as Rouget wouldn't have brought him over unless he thought he'd improved enough to challenge, and he definitely looks a scopey sort. Would rather take a chance than go big on Ribchester, running scared maybe with the favourites being turned over today.
I know I said I was gonna give up punting but! Pastoral player has to be backed in the last with a 3lb claimer on board. He's up in class but he loves it round here and is a multiple cd winner.
Galway Plate 5.25 Deans Road 25/1 Terrific jumper and should be able to travel well for a long way. Can cope with the forecast rain should it come and looks to have a better chance than his odds suggest.
Galway 3.50 Lily the Lioness 25/1 Galway 4.25 Mr Antolini 25/1 Couple of each wayers and an ew double
BALKO DES FLO for me in the big one tomorrow has some decent solid form including when only about 3 lengths behind Woodland Opera (a time when everything Jessica Harrington touched won) but before that hasn't been disgraced in grade 1's. Will have any ground, still on a very good mark and Davy on board everything points towards a big run
How Shaneshill is being backed in is beyond me the horse hasn't jumped a fence since trying to in the RSA in 2016 and the big word is trying! He gave some of them a right wallop! He is a classy hurdler this looks a definite spur of the moment thing jumping a hurdle over in Auteil in June then jumping a fence in August stinks of guess work to me and he's not even thrown too! But Willie is a genius so he must know something we don't!!
You could say he's the only genuine Grade One horse in it Wooly (Road to Riches was, but he's pretty much GATG now and won't like the forecast rain coming) , and he's not that bad a jumper, after all he did jump round Cheltenham in an RSA and was arguably unlucky not to win that. I think he has a great chance personally but in a lottery race like this where anything can happen I wouldn't want to take single figure odds on any of them!
Just had a look at the plate looks a cracking race. Haven't really followed the Irish jumps recently but I see one of my pocket horses is running sandymount duke. The form looks good, what's the chances?
Well I only had 1 bet at Royal Ascot, and once again I only intend to have 1 bet at Goodwood. It has to be Ribchester again. My intentions are to fill my boots here, and then watch the rest of Goodwood with a cocktail in one hand, and a cigar in the other
Sorry mate, it's all about Churchill tomorrow ,receiving weight? 7/4? Aidens had the hole firm on the case.
Get real. Churchill even prior to Royal Ascot was an average Classic winner. He has got no chance with the best miler in Europe. Only the muppets are backing Churchill tomorrow. Probably the same muppets who got involved on the gamble on Jack Hobbs last weekend. Churchill will follow suit with the rest of AOBs classic winners and flop in open company.
The weight is also not an issue. Ribchester is a big fully developed 4yo. He can easily handle abit of extra weight, especially up against a small weak little foal like Churchill. It is a man against a boy, simple as that.
