Fantastic post Billy and really like the way you are so optimistic. Not just in general but always...or at least it seems that way. To me you are the epitome of how a fan should be. Sometimes I lose the faith but have never lost the love or the passion. It's become so ingrained in my everyday life that to be honest it borders on the ridiculous and I'm not sure why. Especially as when we do get promoted that's when the real worries will start.
Nope ... Billy is a proper Leeds United supporter ... through the ups and downs, until the world stops going round I believe that if all Leeds supporters remain positive and optimistic then this belief will flow through the club and onto the pitch ... negativity is such a killer, and it is far too easy to be pessimistic, and for pessimism to transfer from the stands to the players clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are successful because their supporters believe they will win every game, and therefore the players believe they can ... yes, they have the money to sign quality, but the key to their success is that their culture is to win ... this culture lives in the stands, and the expectation transfers to the players ... raise your game or go play somewhere else, simple when there is pessimism and negativity in the stands, then failure is a given ... Sunderland failed miserably last season because their supporters gave up, they abandoned the team when their backing was needed most ... seeing Sunderland supporters walking out before half time and leaving the stadium virtually empty guaranteed failure there is only one way to support your club, and that is with blind faith and loyalty ... for me a Leeds United supporter never quits on the club, and regardless how bad the team might be playing, we back them to the hilt ... this is what makes Leeds United such a unique and incredible club with a fan base second to none ... supporting Leeds United has got nothing to do with glory, it's got to do with being a proper football fan, the valued supporter who follows their club through thick and thin by showing the players that we are behind them no matter what, we give them the confidence and belief to perform ... our players then go out there and fight for every blade of grass, determined not to disappoint the incredible supporters who believe in them when Leeds United supporters go on social media or the YEP and bad mouth players or the club, it serves no genuine purpose ... all it achieves is to create negativity around the club, and drain confidence from the players, thereby derailing any progress the club is making ... for me, Leeds United does not need the pessimistic fan, it only needs the positive supporter that's committed to the cause, regardless for a club like Leeds United to succeed it needs its supporters to stand shoulder to shoulder with the club at all times ... Leeds United doesn't have an arse licking media behind it, bigging it up and selling it to the youth of today ... Leeds United instead has to function in spite of a misguided media machine that to this day revels in taking any opportunity to tarnish the club's image Leeds United's supporters need to stay positive, stick with the club and banish negative thoughts ... we, the loyal supporters, are the key to the club's success, and our positivity and belief will rub off on the players ... United we stand, divided we fall ... fcuk the mainstream media and even the dour YEP, all that matters are the supporters and the club ... Radz has given us a club to believe in and to be proud of again, no excuses MARCHING ON TOGETHER!!!! FFS!!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

We can discuss it sensibly after about four games by which time you might be more realistic with your expectations.
