    Suspect that Mauricio doesn't want any distractions this close to the start of the season. Virgil may be interested in getting more match fit, but who needs a half-hearted player when you have a good squad anyway. Be better to see the tosser once a season rather than getting to glare at him every match and wonder if he is really trying.

    He may well be right. But we're only taking his word because wee have nothing else to go on. I'm happy to wait and see how it all turns out. As far as I am aware, there is no change yet in the club's stated position.

    I am not sure how many statements the club have to make before we will believe VVD is not for sale? They have said it quite often enough and to change their minds now would do nothing for their credibility Imo. They really have to stick to their guns or they are going to make us the fans and themselves look very, very stupid. I really think they are made of sterner stuff than sometimes we give them credit for.

    There is nothing to suggest right now that the clubs stance has changed, I agree. To be fair the apparent change of heart of re-integrating him could be due to a number of reasons.
