Glad to see Viking are getting some **** for using Hull Tigers....makes it nailed on it's being done for no other reason than to piss the fans off.
Could RH technically cover away games only if all other championship clubs (bar L**D's?) have BBC contract rights?
"There's no success like failure and failure is no success at all" - Bob Dylan on the Allams? After spending over a quarter of a billion pounds they have shut the upper west, hardly talk to the local newspaper, thrown out the local radio station with the highest audience and are back where Bartlett left us. At least we have Fraizer Campbell back in the squad.
"The Club" and Viking fm are getting so much **** for this on twitter 115 comments and from what I can see there was only one positive one (Mind you I'm amazed no ones had a pop at a grown man tucking his sweatshirt into his jeans yet!)
Driff, he carefully evaded it (or as I would suggest diplomatically evaded it) as any managing editor of a BBC station would and indeed as any Commercial Radio Director would have done. Ok, it's corporate psychobabble but not untruthful. I understand it was the coverage of the games and by extension the post match stuff and direct criticism of the club too. As for the hard questions, there were many instances where Burnsy raised questions over the lack of prep, lack of players, direction of the club and indeed the BBC more generally (along with print and other broadcast media) could see that we were a basket case and said so. We were a basket case for one good reason and the cause, 'thin skinned Ehab' is basically controlling the media message this time, a la his propaganda videos and you can bet Viking will be happy to go along with it. EDIT: Well indeed they already have calling us Hull Tigers. This move is pretty much in line with the way the Allam family act whenever anyone disagrees with them (managers, media, council etc etc). It'll be interesting to see if Radio Viking (yes we can all play that game) are going to have a phone in... that will be worth a listen.
They varispeed them up a bit, not quite into Mickey Mouse or Chipmunk territory but enough to make a difference.
Random song, but I remember hearing 'Starships' by Nicki Minaj on Viking when it first came out. They missed the dancey bit out, so that it was literally just lyrics, which made the song ten times ****ter than it already was.
