Gordon Elliott's Automated let me down at Cheltenham so I'm hoping for compo tomorrow in the 2m 1f Connaght Hotel Handicap at 7.40 - 8/1. This one certainly appears well handicapped on the flat based on his jumps form and has the services of a top class amateur jockey. What could possibly go wrong other than 19 opponents on a tight track plenty of whom will have been plotted up. Good luck everyone having a punt. This time tomorrow there will only be 6 days left.
I'm not predicting the end of the world Ron just highlighting the Galway festival which lasts a whole 7 days.
I thought you were giving it 6 days before N Korea try to blast America off the planet and America bomb the **** out of N Korea. And then the **** hits the fan
I love the Galway festival and even though the quality of the racing isn't on par with Goodwood it's always a cracking good week for a few wagers! The one that's interests me on todays card is Hyperdive for Jesse H.This lad is going for a hatrick of wins and had a nice draw and can make all at 3/1.The handicaps are always a nightmare for punters but I do like the look of King Willie's Lagostovegas in 7.40 at 10/1ew
I was going to suggest Ruby might ride the others to sleep on Nessun Dorma in the first at Galway but he's a non-ruuner. Shame.
Aydoun @ 14/1 in the first at Galway could do very well given his flat rating. His first time in public hurdling but the price is too big to ignore and with e places he rates a decent bet to take the fave on with.
That went as expected then. Aydoun well back in 3rd but no damage done. Another huge compliment paid to that horse no one is talking about.
Tony Martin going for it again at Galway. I always like to take them on when it's one of Tones but it's such a horrendous race I dare not get involved as he may well pull it off. Who sends horses to Tony Martin, seriously? Going to take some getting that hill at Galway, it's OK today and maybe tomorrow but we are forecast a wash out from Wednesday and on.
Evening all, So I did a JOB double with his winner in th first race and Medal of honour in the 6.05 what is the / if any is the rule 4 for the Mullins horse coming out earlier today??
No. But you knew what you were getting into prior to the race if you were getting involved. How many have we seen come up short like that from the same connections over the years given a similar spin around. Good ride by the winner. Kept it as simple as possible and had gone too far clear by the time any danger could break through the herd.
Really like AUTOMATED myself and have backed it each way. Slightly offput that Elliott saying that he's still in the Hurdle on Thursday and one wonders if tonight's just a tune up for that or will they be going for it? Cracking chance if he is off as they say, likes this cut in the ground, stays further so will be coming home well up that run in and has the best amateur in the business jocked up the mighty Coddfather
The bottom one (1st reserve) looks to the one. Was being backed heavily last night and this morning even when only a reserve. The trainer then takes his other one out.
Swamp Fox for me! Won with loads in hand last year this looks to be the aim again, prefect prep to get match fit over hurdles and looks a good chance!
The McGregonator @ 16/1 is a decent each way bet with 4 places. All his form lines should put him thereabouts.
Yeah I noticed him late last night getting nibbled at in the good old Ted Veale/ Quick Jack (Breslin) colours and being first reserve there was always a fair chance he'd creep in, as he has now with the stable buddy pulled. Last win was here last season beating a 1/2 shot of Welds, supposedly his week's best too so he clearly likes the place. He hasn't convinced me he'll stay this far, hopefully he won't
