My book for tomorrow reads: JAMES GARFIELD - Goodwood 2:25 - 12/1 LIBRISA BREEZE/LIMATO - Goodwood 3:00 - 8/1 and 4/1 DESERT SKYLINE - Goodwood 3:35 - 33/1 All each way. The latter one I think could run well tomorrow. Big Orange has every chance of completing the hat trick, but to me Desert Skyline has looked a classy performer all season. Finishing just over 3 furlongs behind Stradivarius in the Queen's Vase given a shoddy ride well off the pace, he took a step forward again when second to Raheen House in the Bahrain Trophy. That form reads really well so it's all about if he stays. He hasn't been stopping at the end of any of his races, and breeding suggests he'll get the trip. Been supplemented for this race so you would assume they'll make every use of him - if ridden a bit closer to the pace then he could easily have the class to outrun his odds
Completely agree with Librisa and Limato Garcia in the first. Moore booked. 2.25 The betting suggests this is a 2 horse race between the unbeaten colts Expert Eye and Seahenge. The former has the better time but the latter won hands and heels so very difficult to assess the form. Slight preference for the latter's pedigree. The unbeaten French gelding Cold Stare is interesting at 9/1. After 2 runs in France he comes here and brings his regular jockey with him. With his pedigree he must have been a little **** to have him gelded
I was all over Librisa Breeze (as I never suspected Limato to win) and backed him a few weeks ago Howver if he runs he wins my main pick is Limato- this seems his easiest task yet this year, over what you could argue is his optimum trip! After what happened in Dubai the slightest doubt he won't handle the ground he won't run so I am happy to back him again!!
Surely if it is soft they will pull him! Also it hasn't rained all day down here and not due till the Wednesday so it will have he word good in the description
Gonna have a couple of quid ew on angels quest in the last at Goodwood for Richard Hughes . Highly tried but still a maiden. I was at Goodwood recently and he had a no hoper hose up in good style.
You could be right chaps but Limato running on anything with soft in the description a few hours before the race at 3/1 makes me want to look elsewhere. Draw is a massive factor here. Anything high makes life so difficult. Librissa Breeze is out in 14 - surely no chance from there. Limato in 8 isn't dreadful but it's no help either. I'd rather back Home of The Brave in stall one at about 8/1 and hope he steals a lead and doesn't look back.
OASIS FANTASY 14/1 Goodwood 1:50 Beaten only a neck in this race last season when second to Fire Fighting. Races off a 5lb lower mark this time round and recent runs lead me to think that this race has been a plan for some time. The yard is having a very good season and he has the bonus of having the forums favourite jockey doing the steering.
MILDENBERGER 11/2 Goodwood 2:25 Impossible not to be impressed with the way way this youngster stretched clear from a potentially decent field under a penalty at Newbury. He looked a typical tough Johnston 2yo and they have had this race in mind for some weeks now. He did it from the front at Newbury setting a very decent pace and went right away in the final furlong eventually winning eased down. Well worth a try in this grade and I wouldnt be a bit surprised if this son of Teofilio doesnt turn out to be even more useful than his form already suggests.
8.40 Galway Beau Satchel 6/1 Great Festival record having run blinder after blinder from higher marks. Good draw which most of his main competitors haven't been lucky with. Mark of 72 gives him a big chance.
Yard are hopeful but not massively confident on Librisa due to the draw and Limato. So i've just done the reverse-forecast. Think Home of the Brave could of beat the pair of them USA at 10/1 in the 8 10 Galway is huge
Put it on about a month ago when he was 8s across the board. Thought it was a lousy ante post punt as didn't think he'd be much shorter on the day given the strength of the opposition. Then I thought it was looking great a week ago with rain about, now it's dried up and with that draw less confident. Happy to hear Ivory come out and say that Winston can't let him get too far back against this opposition, I still think he's got chances if Winston can pop him out into midfield. With you in seeing Home of the Brave with that draw as a massive danger
