Seems to be early money down Heisenburg, so the "lads" are hitting their week wages up early. Best of luck Wonderful Wexford and Delightful Down Royal. Life doesn't get much better. I might venture in to Wexford if I'm home in time for a ****, shower and shave. Ruby makes an appearance and Puppy Power makes his belated comeback...can he pick up where he left off?
Olly Murphy watch 2.30 Uttoxeter Knight Commander R Johnson Though I have to tell you guys, I fancy a bit of MASH POTATO myself!
I think he has been poor the last couple of seasons. When he had that wonderful Cheltenham festival, winning the Triumph on Our Conor and a couple of other races, he looked exactly what he was - a young, talented jockey hungry for success. Last couple of seasons he has looked to be going through the motions to me. It does tend to happen with whoever gets their retainer and if it were me I would look to use the stable jockeys of my trainers, rather than having a retained first choice jockey. Just my tuppence worth.
Tough on young Cooper but o Leary is a ruthless bastard and the writing was on the wall for some time. They should never have sacked Russell IMO who is now riding better than ever.Jack Kennedy seems the logical replacement but he is still only in his teens but should still get a lot of rides and Davey will probably get a lot more calls now along with the Mullins lad. Unfortunately for Cooper ,who has had some awful injuries, it will take a while to get over this blow.He is likeable fella but made a lot of errors last season and he will find it harder to be picked up by another trainer especially with wealth of decent young jockeys available this side of the water.
