The title of the article in the OP is misleading. Read what the reviewer actually wrote, they are twisting the guy's words somewhat: "The trio of timelines can be jarring as you figure out how they all fit, and the fact that there are only a couple of women and no lead actors of color may rub some the wrong way." So nobody has actually said what everyone is getting their knickers in a twist about. I think what the guy is trying to say is the Hollywood film industry is under scrutiny at the moment for issues like racism and equality so the makers of the film are leaving themselves open to criticism from the public and the industry itself.
Fair point, but it is definitely something more apparent in society, this whole quota of all minorities even though its not particularly pertinent. Not just the film industry, football, workplaces etc Apparently game of thrones producers are making an ill informed choice of slavery as the topic of their next series, because people moaned there were only Caucasians in that.
