Agree that most of our loan signing were inconsistent. Ranocchia on the whole was decent and I'd have been happy for us to sign him if we had stayed up. N'Diaye was decent but had too many games where he was ineffective. I wouldn't have minded us signing him if we had stayed up but we could have done better. Markovic was very good but equally frustrating. He had such quality but just didn't show it enough. He has the ability to unlock defences though so would have happily kept him. Niasse was confusing. Looked nothing like a footballer but I always felt he was a threat and he had a terrific work ethic. Elab - ****. I think even Elmo was better defensively.
I though Elabdelloui was alright. His performances were better than Elmos. Shame he got injured really.
I thought Ranocchia was the pick of the bunch. Unfortunately his 'air' kick at Palace will be the one thing I remember most about him. Cost us a goal that we never recovered from. I rated Markovic as well. It was telling that our attacking threat disappeared for the season when he came off v Sunderland - never to play again.
I would if there is something in the Markovic link once Grosicki inevitably goes? Are we willing to pay PL wages on one player?
I doubt the Markovic link is true. It's just lazy journalism. Lets link him to his last manager and club.
To be fair he was coming back from a long injury when he got here and never really got a run but to me he didn't look up to it. Bit too lightweight, poor positionally and not great going forward. Was ok on the ball in general play.
Silva went along with the short term philosophy of the Allams, getting rid of Livermore for instance who has been good at different levels for us and getting in loans who he knew would leave as soon as he did. Better to look at the permanent signings he made, Evandro (jury's out, seemed injured a lot) and Grosicki (looks overrated).
To be fair we have this way too much, players brought in who aren't fully fit and then get injured again even as we try to get them ready quicker. It's again part of the cheapness of the Allams, and managers brought in who go along with it. Evandro was another who struggled to get fit from what I remember.
I agree the frog was the best IMO. Markovic IMO got better the more games he played, so I if he can get a run of games I think you would see the best of him.
What about this Kenedy from Chelsea then? Won't be close to getting a game for them now, decent attacking option in the championship.
I can't see Marko settling for the chumpionship...unless they are on a huge promo bonus...Which I doubt.
[QUOTE="Duffens_Briefs, post: 10773389, e Marko settling for the chumpionship...unless they are on a huge promo bonus...Which I doubt.[/QUOTE] Me neither, but having been to EPL club and warm the bench, there is a time when you might drop down to get game time, but a lesser EPL club like Watford is more likely.
He did a game, just the one, in which he got injured and having not got over it, he was recalled by Chelsea in January.
http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/07/24/leeds-eye-boban-lazic-winger-twice-almost-signed-for-hull-city/ Don't remember Boban Lazic??? Am I getting Alzheimers?
Grosicki and his agent are a pair of grade a ****s, as i said previously if he was saying this in English our fans would be all over it. City should fine the disrespectful twat.
I think people would be more bothered if they were gutted to see him go. If all this talking helps us get back what we paid then let them carry on.
