Aden Flint and Tommy Elphick are not on Leeds United’s radar, despite the Whites continuing their search for defensive reinforcements, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post’s, Lee Sobot.
Actually three things...you're not willing to pay an extra £2 per ticket even when your mates are flying in from Ireland. Not judging just stating the facts.
£44 is too much, Its a trip to the footie something I would be doing 15 times based on last year for me not an occasional weekend away. I take ur point but it doesnt represent value for money based on the last twelve years.
It's your money and of course you should spend it as you see fit...no arguments there. What I don't understand is why you think so badly of our new owner for charging a couple of quid extra per ticket after he's (or someone backing him) spent a lot of money 1) Purchasing 100% of the club (less debenture) 2) Obtaining the freehold of ER and 3) Investing in players (albeit perhaps naively, but he will learn). What would it actually take to gain your approval ?
I'd bring Hernandez on for the last 30 mins. I'd love to see Alioski in the attacking mid role and perhaps Sacko on the wing
I think with Elland Road being bought the club need to gain a bit more profit this season through some means. I know its not really for me to say, haven't been to elland road in a few years now (although if I lived over there I'd be going every week like I was) but I'd prefer a few quid extra on matchday tickets rather than an important player being sold from under us like Bates would undoubtedly be doing. No matter how this season goes, I think rad has done more than enough to allow us to be successful. Its been a more promising start under him than many previous owners. I do have certain concerns though that make me worry about how that will translate on the pitch. Unfortunately I'm still not inspired by the Orta appointment which is probably the most important appointment at the club.
The ownership of the ground has no bearing on ticket prices, if the club didnt own the ground we would be paying rent. We should be paying no more thsn the average for the league we are in to watch a game. Rad is trying to get a return on his investmrnt I understand that, but does he need to do it so quickly? Smells of someone who cant really afford the club to me. Footie is supposed to be a family game enjoyed by the "working man" its priced beyond the reach of many. Every increase in prices worsens that and adds to the gentrification thats killing the spectacle.
Disagree My problem with Bates was his 'prem prices for prem football' comment and then he did not spend what was necessary for success, as it became more and more evident when he cashed in on players like Delph I did everything I could not to give him money. This owner is behaving like he means it - whether he is getting things right time will tell but he is spending We are not an average club in this league, we don't want to be Smells of a businessman who has enhanced the product and has now judged he can charge more for it You may wish for a world of £10 seats but most large crowd events (concerts for example) cost a fortune. It would be good if there was some way of addressing how very poor people can afford to go, maybe a topic for the fan advice group he is setting up, but it's not an easy one. We should be looking at the clubs that are really our competitors - top 6 Prem - and what they do 'If You want Prem football, pay prem prices.' Is not a bad perspective provided those paying believe they are getting a fair deal in return.
Also there is evidence people perceive Rad is doing things - season ticket sales up 25% These are match day prices, a season ticket works out at £21 a game, £16.50 a game for miserable old gits.
If we could pay prem prices to see prem football I would be likely to be home and away but we cant. We are getting fleeced by being charged top dollar at home and away. Look to recoup the investment when you have delivered the product doesn't seem unreasonable. Hopefully we don't get to find out but if things dont go well this season I can see casual supporters not turning out and STs been the only ones there. We have 18,000 STs will be interesting to see how attendances do if we are mid table and not competing in the winter. I just think circa £40 is too much for 1.5 hours in a stadium where the seats are so cramped you cant sit down if you wanted to..
Season tickets mean you are tying yourself into going every game to get value for money. I am not able to make it to enough games to justify it now. At the end of the day if the team are competing at the top end he will make a fortune, if not the atmosphere in the ground will be like 1982 all over again. Time will tell.
Maybe the ticketing bundles they talk about will suit those wanting to see a few games but can't commit to a season. Strikes me that this is a pitch to convince a few more people to buy season tickets... with bundling discounts to come later to help shift seats it turns out they've misjudged the increases. If we're in the relegation places come December you'll be able to buy the second half of the season for a tenner with a free pie chucked in every game.
