IMHO not this Season , after the apology from your team , and our board saying he won't be sold , it WILL be seen as a massive climb down by us .

It's just business imo, as long as we sort ourselves out and do it properly then why not? He wants out and you can demand a **** load of cash.

IMHO , it's not just business from our point of view . It is from yours , we have a player who wants to go to you , and you want him . It seems you may be trying to wipe the slate clean on the apology ? . From My point of view , if we sell to you this summer , after what has been said by your club and ours ,it will be a massive climb down from our point of view . If he could just keep his head down , play for one more full season , then he can go , but IMHO , he will go to another club this transfer window , just not you yours .

 

Even if VVD submits a transfer request, Saints don't have to accept it.
In fact, if I were Les, I would call him and his agent into a meeting to discuss it, then rip it up in front of their faces, before handing it back with a firm rejection.
And, being a devious little git, I'd have a hidden camera to record their reactions, so I could play it at the Christmas party.

 

If we were expecting to sell VvD I would have expected more incoming transfer rumours of us sounding out players to spend the cash on. It still seems weirdly quiet, even for not selling Virgil. Especially since we are apparently debt free and going to spend all incomings.

 

The neverending takeover does seem to have shat on this transfer window for us. Saying that, there is still several weeks of the window left and we may just be being even sneakier than ever.

 

So no one Knows then?

Last I heard he was training on his own. Have I missed something?

 

The squad are in France now though, minus Virgil.

If he's supposed to be training, not sure he can just pop abroad without permission. Unless he is trying to piss off Saints....surely not

 

How do we know he's in the US? Maybe he's seeing a specialist. Any teams in the US for pre-season?

 

A friend of mine posted a photo of himself with him at Disney a couple days ago. Just thoght someone may have more info as to why he was out there.

 

Have seen no evidence...just a rumour. Perhaps he was given permission whilst the others are in France....a chance to think hard about what he's done.

 

He was at Paris Disneyland ... there's picture evidence on Twitter.

Very unusual situation it strikes me. Strange there doesn't seem to have been any offers coming for him and that includes Liverpool............Most clubs do not like buying players that have a long contract, especially if they cause a fuss and refuse to even honour it, trying to sell himself to another team. Other than to the team who tapped him up in the first place. Especially after signing an extended contract a few months before.
Would any of the other big teams want someone that throws out his dummy to get a move?
Have to admit if it was me making the decisions on wether to buy, it just might make me think very,very hard as to wether i would want a player like that in my squad. I just wonder if anyone has suggested that to him??

 

Honestly, I doubt they care. If they want the player then it won't bother them too much espescially as the majority of players will do it these days.
