    * Bring in two Cb's. Inga is sadly injury prone.

    * Add another 1 or 2 elsewhere, perhaps some creativity.

I'm trying to keep this post in perspective people. Not happy with tonights result, or the 1 vs Hull however at the minute we have huge issues at the back.

Full backs will be fine when we have a solid base, and the confidence will spread through the team. At the minute we're asking Smith ( who I don't think is up to it he should be on loan ) and Delaney ( fine when being led, not a leader ) to play at CB. This is going to cause chaos at Full back + central mid.

I hope the lessons of the team selection from tonight are learned rapidly. I wasn't at all amused with how we lined up tonight, however both subs appear to have at least helped us have a go second half. Sadly the damage was done, and with them 2 at CB we were always going to concede another at least.....!

2 players for me I'd love to see the back of now are Scotland + Kennedy. I thought Kennedy was horrific at Bristol City, and being subbed tonight I presume he was bad again.....

JET COULD actually be a great bit of business......

We really do need to bounce back v Peterborough. Lets hope Carson sorts his fitness and attitude out, he could be a massive player this season for us. Martin looks a completely different player, shame he wasn't 100% fit....

    Team for Peterborough......

    Stockdale

Edwards / NEW CB ( I think there will be 1 by the weekend / Delaney / Cresswell

    Bowyer / Andrews / Leadbitter / Martin

    JET

    Chopra.

Would love to put Carson in the line up, however appears he has to prove himself. Bowyer could provide cover for Edwards coming forwards.

I actually think we have the makings of a good side here, we're being rather hampered at CB sadly. Lets hope this changes, then results can happen.

Kind of agree to a certain point but if we have at least one new CB then we should be able to go 442 but for that to happen i really think we need someone like SEB to play alongside Chopra. Its no good going 442 with Scotland/Priskin or Ellington alongside Chopra, will Jewell be able to bring in a DECENT partner for Chops? I doubt it!!

Spanish you can put any selection on there that you like and it wouldn't do any good. We are garbage and the only reason we beat Bristol is because they are only slightly worse than we are!

I actually think JET In the hole could be rather darn good when he's properly fit.....

    2 goals already....!

I've written Scotland off mate - he had a chance v Northampton and another tonight.

I think Priskin deserves some minutes for the next game. Speaks volumes Ellington was an unused sub........

Also feel Drury deserves an opportunity. He would have been a useful sub 2night....

In my opionion Westlake, Kennedy has been our best midfielder so far

Well he was gash at Bristol City, got subbed tonight, subbed v Hull after 64, and wasn't in the squad v Northampton.

How the hell you can think he's been our best midfielder is beyond me frankly. Glad your not manager lets put it that way...!

Who has been better? Did you watch him tonight? Or on Saturday? Do you know why he was subbed tonight?

I don't claim to be a manager but also don't claim wisdom about things that I haven't even witnessed. How the hell you can 'write off' Scotland without seeing tonight's match is beyond me. He was much better and head and shoulders above some of the crap players behind him.

Your being contrary just for the sake of it does get boring Westlake

Agree with everything you've said apart from Kennedy comments, not a natural midfielder but did ok, better playing LB behind Cresswell.

I think PJ learnt valuable lessons tonight, for 20 minutes we looked very dangerous and with a better defence we would have got something from the game. Proved that 442 is the way forward at home, as long as we have a defence!

I think this will be a season we will have to grow in to rather than hit the ground running, Palace proved a while back that a strong start is not essential for promotion and our run last season almost got us into the play offs late on. If we get the right players in by transfer deadline there is no reason why we can't make up for this month's dropped points.

Being contrary for the sake of it ?

I created the article and gave my thoughts - I posted I wasn't overly amused with Kennedy so far, so I'm hardly being contrary - if anything, you are being for disputing what I've said ;) !

A forum is for opinions. I have mine, you have yours. Ours will differ at times, other times we'll agree. However, I'm not going to disagree with everything just to be difficult, I'm not Spanish ;)

I think we need 2 more players before we can become a decent team, desperately need 2 cb's, as Smith is still young an inexperienced and confidence shot to pieces.

I think Delaney is possibly one of the worst defenders I have ever seen. His positional sense is absolutely appaling, he gets pulled out of position too easily which often leaves Smith one on one with the striker, his passing is woeful, he gets too tight to the striker when he doesn't need to and then when he needs to close the player down he doesn't. Physically he has the right attributes to be a CB but he has no footballing brain. I think from what I said last season McAuley helped Delaney out soo much.

To become a team challenging at the top of the table I think we need another 7 signings, a goalkeeper, 2CB's, a RB, a creative CM, a left winger and another striker.

I am not happy with tonights result, however lets not be too down beat. Southampton were one of the best sides I have ever seen play at this level, their passing and movement was superb. Our defence was woeful but we've lost McAuley who was by far our best defender and Jewell is clearly trying to strengthen but at the moment I think its about not rushing to buy anyone, taking a few hits and coming out the other side stronger building for the future.

I thought Cresswell looks like a promising player and had a decent game, although I did think we looked slightly better with Kennedy in defence as he seemed to organise the defence slightly better.

I think Jewel got the selection wrong tonight, for a minute I though Keane was back in charge with 4 CM's, he should have really started with the formation we ended with and with JET upfront with Martin on the wing.

I think the team I would play against Peterborough would be:

    Stockdale
    Edwards, Smith, Delaney, Kennedy
    Martin, Andrews, Leadbitter, Cresswell
    Chopra, JET

Like I said I think Kennedy's experience in defence is needed atm as we seem to have a bunch of headless chickens playing at the back. I thought Andrews wasn't too bad in midfield and at least made himself available for the ball. Bowyer was very poor and should be dropped. Cresswell looked solid at LM and JET looked very good played as an out and out striker.

As for Scotland, I didn't think he had too bad of a game, he held the ball up well and had a few decent touches.

itfcptc - My thoughts exactly in regards to the starting eleven. I immediately shuddered and thought Keane was back in charge.

I can't bring myself to write at length about how disappointing that result is and the worry of how far we still have to go despite spending millions and getting through what feels like hundreds of players when week in week out we are being torn apart by young, tenacious, talented footballers we need to be seeking out. We need to start signing players with the view to long term deals, not stop gap players like Ellington.

Completly right. I will say this though, Delaney is ok when being guided by someone (much better than Smith atleast)
