Goal scoring midfielders are worth loads. Explain to me what Frank Lampard does. Look at Wickham from Ipwich and Chamberlain from Southampton, both went to the prem for over 10M. Leeds got 6M for Delph in league 1 and King is better then Delph and more proven
If you read the article - nowhere does it say he is actually linked to Leeds. His father basically says that "he would drop down to the CCC, because its not a bad league (there are teams like 'Leeds' in it), and he wants first team football". There is no way that Leeds could afford one months of his wages! I am not starting to beleive that he would move to the Foxes...but if he did then im wearing his name on the back of my shirt! Incredible talent!
Lampard is a leader, he can pick up a game by the scruff of its neck. He can pass, tackle, shoot and is committed. Wickham is 18, will without a doubt be playing for England in a few years time, he is a special talent. Chamberlain is a creative midfielder, he is that spark of magic that will change a game and he is 17. He'll play for England. Overpaid for, any Southampton fan will agree. Delph is a box to box midfielder who can run a game. He can pass and tackle brilliantly, once again he was overpaid for but he is a better Gelson Fernandes. King can make timed run into the box and score. But 90% of the game you wouldn't have a clue he is playing and he is 22, a lot older than the others. I'm sorry, but he worth 3-4m tops.
i actually think that leeds comment is saying "come and get me leicester"- by saying he wants england and big champ clubs without mentioning our name.
Stop trying to sell off King - there is no indication that anyone has or will bid for him and he is on a long term contract with us and aside for a couple of people here, we want to keep him. Back on topic, what wages is Santa Cruz on - because it is Man City must be extremely stupid money.
Is this as relevant though? If he's willing to drop down a division to ensure he's playing regularly, surely he'll be expecting a pretty substantial pay cut too? Maybe, with Sven's links and the fact that Man City are loaded, we can get him on a season-long loan where we pay only a small proportion of his wages, with a view to a permanent move if we get promoted?
Is relevant because of what leicester_ed has said - reason we didn't get Yak permanently was because he wanted wages of around £40k+ and if that is what Man City wants us to pay, Santa isn't coming.
But I think it could be argued that you'd get more for your money with Santa Cruz than with the Yak...
for £40k a week, i think santa would be coming- big player and we are desperate. Could paraguayan promotion too maybe!?
Yes! It's a shame we're not Leicester Town Football Club, 'Santa Cruz is coming to Town' would be a classic.
Ha! My opinion on a football forum is my opinion, again it´s not North Korea. 17.5m well spent eh ? How much are we offering ? How much per week in wages ? A prem has been, but as I said would be good in the npower.. thank **** we never got Keane
I know people are fed up of reading this from me but now I'm more concerned about getting in a winger than a striker! Santa Cruz would be lethal IF he got chances - but we aren't creating any at the moment!
