We know if we want to keep players we have to pay them the going rate. If this means another glut of pay rises after the revised TV package then so be it. May as well add some extra security on the deal. 34 is no age for a keeper

Getting annoyed with all the disrespect being shown Fraser in social media. You would think he was the worst GK who ever drew breath and that no player had ever had a poor season before (and I even dispute that given his injury and what else was going on at Saints at the time). His clean sheets in previous seasons are being mocked as mainly due to the defence in front of him....has anyone analysed the stats for other keepers....did they all have weak defences and keep clean sheets by wonder saves. Defence is a unit....the presence of the keeper (and Forster has presence) has an effect on the lads in front of him and the opposition. I think some fans want our keeper to be constantly under pressure or he's not worth having. I know.... let's sell Virgil.
Not really expectant, just having their own opinion instead of being told what to think. Me saying he's not a great keeper isn't showing him a lack of respect either. I just don't rate him and never have particularly. I understand Fran you're not referring to me (or at least I hope not!) but if you let social media trolls get to you then you'll almost constantly be pissed off.
Who has told you or anyone else what to think? I'm going to go and find my post from June about what would happen this summer. I think i said that as soon as I posted something in defence of the club/player, that I'd get accused of talking down to someone, or in this case, telling you what to think. It is always the fall back position. As a generalisation, I believe that too many fans are too expectant. The irony here is, I haven't made a post on this thread that actually gives my opinion of Fraser. Nobody has asked it either. All I've done is probed and questioned - sort of what happens in a debate.

Oh come on TLL. Read your first sentence it replies directly to my use of "expectant" Who has been told what to think by anyone? It's relevant to every discussion, because so much starts with a post that is a repeat of what always happens, which comes from a high expectancy.
Yeah I was pointing out that expectancy has nothing to do with the discussion about Fraser. I don't get your last paragraph. Seems your just jumping on any opportunity to affirm your super fan status to the forum as per.

Trying to remember, but I can only remember JWP being nice....and, let's face it, can you imagine him being anything else.
Forster is decent enough. Not sure he's that great, but he's certainly not terrible. Think some of his bad performances were because he was hurt and it impacted his confidence as well. Also, kind of a makeshift defense for a lot of the year. I'm sure that naturally caused some disorganization and confusion at times as they had to get used to playing with each other. I'm not sure why he got an extension so soon, but in the end it's just one year and as a keeper he should be decent until the end of the contract. So yeah, not a big deal. Happy for Forster I guess.
Corrected that for you, mate. Forster is not the greatest goalkeeper in the history of the game. Neither is SFC. He's good. He had his problems last year - well noted. Good signing. Well done, Les and his pen. Good night.
