Have you ever bet against the lads?

    I sometimes have this mentality.

    If it's nailed on that we'll lose, or very likely, the odds wont be that attractive to bet on, but sometimes there's chance of good returns if you bet a considerable amount.

    Bet a large sum of money against the lads, if the lads lose, you get a good amount of money back to help heal the wounds, if the lads win, you'd lose money but you'll be too busy buzzing about the lads getting an amazing result that you wont care.

    I've done this twice in past. I bet a load on us to lose against Man Utd away first game of the season, and i got a nice load of cash back. I didn't expect us to win anyway and there was still a full season a head of us. Winning 6-0 vs Villa and having my winnings in the bank from the last game healed the wounds nicely.

    I bet us to lose vs Arsenal away last season, and lost 160 quid, but i'd have payed that money in exchange for that result for the toon anyway.

    It's sort of a win win situation if you bet on the right game.

    Never but my mate does every game. His theory being:

    1. if we win he doesn't mind losing the money,
    2. if we lose, his winnings take the edge off a bad day.

    I was so pissed off after we lost at Fulham last season I put £2 on us going down. Don't like betting on Newcastle as a rule.

    My mate who I go to home games with put 20quid on Sunderland yesterday.
    This is so if worst comes to worst he can use the dirty money he wins to drown his sorrows.

    I never bet on Newcastle.

    I have enough emotion invested in them that I don't want to add to my nerves with a financial burden either.

    I often bet on first goalscorers etc agianst but I don't usually bet on us to lose on a coupon

    when i'm legally allowed i will probably bet on a yellow for cheick almost guaranteed.

    I have put them to win in an accumulator and that's it. I would never bet against them!

    I don't like to bet on us either way, don't like betting on us to lose even if I think we might, and never bet on us to win.

    Done this twice, at Blackburn and Liverpool away. Won the Liverpool bet but couldn't get my winnings as had to have online account -.- <doh>

    Never bet against the lads, but I did have us to beat the Spuds as the last of a 10 game accumulator that manager to bag me £1500.

    Which was nice.
