my turn then.... about 2006 we went to york racecourse around sept time for the annual camper show.a three day event with stalls and two big marquees put togehter. we had a caravan mostly just to get pissed in and doss. the main event on the Saturday night was the Supremes who put a great show including the history of the group and it's former members. still being smokers in those days we went out the back for a cig.saw a security guy on duty and asked him who the camper round the back belonged to.you wait there he said and went in the campers direction.he came back and asked us to come with him a nd to our shock we ended up eating supper with the Supremes.i happened to mention i liked Gladys Knight and one lady turned out to be her cousin.(small world at times). so it came to say by and i posed for a photograph with my arms round the lovely ladies waists. no digital cameras in those days so had to wait till next saturday to pick up the prints. i hastily scanned through the photos to find my moment of fame.at this moment my wife did a runner having viewed them before i got home.there i was with the ladies me and my bloody torso and no head.
years ago i was in the original oak pub at headingley leeds and who was at side of me getting served JOE JORDON i asked if he was joe jordon and he confirmed he was and i said im a leeds utd fan its great to meet you and shook his hand
years ago i had just arrived with my mate who is a liverpool supporter in napolons casino at 1am on kirkstall road , leeds and walked into the casino room and who should be walking out past me noel whelen i said to him hi noel hows it going he said i have done ok tonight and my mate who is a liverpool supporter said to him , not as well as liverpool , so noel gave my mate the stare he does and i said to noel whelen take no notice of him he is a liverpool supporter but i am a leeds fan and noel said to my me you cant half tell he is a liverpool supporter i laughed and said to noel ok mate when are we having a night out , he just waved and went out of the casino .
I was once in a bookies in leeds city centre and who was sat writing out a bet peter lorimer my mate noticed him and said to me go on say something to him , i was going to ask him if he thought the bayern munich v leeds utd european cup final was fixed and the referee was bribed with beckenbauer arranging it and also wether peter lorimer thought his goal should have stood when it was disallowed but i was too shy to ask him at that time i was abit shy in those days so i did not ask him but would like to ask him now and know once and for all by asking peter lorimer
