Bollocks. Whatever happens, he's no Wycombe player now. There was some talk of his heart not being in it towards the end of the season. I don't think he ever intended staying at Wycombe and he hasn't done Wycombe any favours going on a free
Pierre played 2 friendlies but City decided not to offer him a contract, looks like he'll have to aim a little lower like League 1. If he has no offers should we take him back? My view is no because we don't want a sulky player who doesn't want to playfor Wycombe upsetting the team spirit in the dressing room like we've seen players do before
As far as I know this is the squad we have. No news on trialists. Contracted until summer 2018 Max Muller Scott Brown Will De Havilland Sido Jombati Joe Jacobson Danny Rowe Paul Hayes Dayle Southwell Sam Saunders Anthony Stewart Nick Freeman Adebayo Akinfenwa Matt Bloomfield Marcus Bean Contracted until summer 2019 Dominic Gape Luke O'Nien Michael Harriman Scott Kashket Paris Cowan-Hall Adam El-Abd Manager- Gareth Ainsworth Goalkeeping Coach- Barry Richardson
Owain Jones ex Swansea youth striker who was on loan at Yeovil last season is on trial today with a left back as well.
Think the left backs gone, he ended up on trial at another club. Unless of course this was a different trialist in the behind closed doors game
I was thinking the same thing but I was watching an interview with Gareth the other day and he was saying that he only wants players that are mentally tough and right for the club and have the right attitude and work ethic and fit in with the family atmosphere at the club so I guess there's a lot of behind the scenes work done on recruitment of players as wycombe can't afford to buy any so called misfits.
Very true, we don't have a big budget and it would be a waste if the person had the wrong attitude e.g Dean Morgan. Maybe he is waiting for the premiership squad lists to come out and then dip into the loan market. Anyway it's a bit boring.
Anyone know when they have to submit their 25 man squad? Do the championship clubs do the same? That will be when we could pick up some cracking players who just missed out on first team squad and don't want to play in the reserves.
Not sure when the squads have to be submitted but you're right there are some gems out there who won't get a sniff in their first team. I hear Bolton are looking at blackman that's a shame would have been good to have him for another year on loan. I really don't know why man €ity and chelski bother having youth set ups cos they never bring any players through their ranks to the first team they just buy their success
Blackman was good but I reckon Brown will be more than adequate (still having difficulty getting over that awful clearance against Spurs which lost us the game). I was thinking the same and then yesterday I saw that Bournmouth have paid £20mil for Ake. Plus a tribunal of (estimate) £7mil for Solanke to Liverpool. Maybe also some money for loftus-cheek to Palace (even though he is on loan). Kante only cost them £32mil. So if they sell 3-4 youngsters who will never get a game then they can buy 1 world class player.
20 players under contract. Is that the most we have had for a while? 14 of those are for just this season. If we disappoint and don't make the play offs I wonder how many of those will stay/ be released
All of the trialists except tyson appear to have been released - none played yesterday and have all had run outs at other clubs Badly need another centre back - only saw 60 minutes of el-abd yesterday and wasnt wowed, but more importantly WDH and muller both still look really poor and worrying liabilities at the back
