Hopefully Shola will step up and prove his worth i want him on double figures. He got 6 now. So if he cud get about 12 al 2geva he wil do well. If he fails 2 deliver he cannot argue at bein a sub next season

What about Nicklas Bendtner and Gabriel Agbonlahor? Good, young players and will be lookin to play regular games

 

Agbonlahor looked the business a season or so ago, not unlike Stephen Ireland. I'd be wary of signing players based on the form of past seasons. He seems happy at Villa, not that that means anything. Agree that we need two strikers in summer. Ameobi and Best are good squad players but we need people that can do it week in week out, they're in short supply. A lot of who we can go for will depend on where we finish this season. Top 10 and we're an attractive proposition, mid-lower table and people may have other preferences.

Who we sign depends on what formation Pardew wants to play in the long run. If it's one up with Ben Arfa / Nolan in behind then he'll probably only sign one striker. If it's 4-4-2 with Ben Arfa on the left then he'd want two strikers.

I personally would go with the 4-4-2 with a big man little man. Get a right winger in. Cleverley would be good for me and Hatem on the left with Joey moving into the centre alongisde Cheik (as long as we don't accept bids for any of them :S) I think 3 or 4 summer transfers would be good

If Ireland comes good then it is gud for us obviously as he will probably help us improve futher, if he doesn't then we can just send him back to Villa. Its win/win really on that

I have no doubts that we will be around 10th come the end of the season which is excellent imo

 

carroll at this point last season scored 3 goals, and people call the championship a poor league (pundits/some fans)

he has 11, and when you think only 4 of them have been down to himself or a cross, bartons free kick against west ham, same vs arsenal,xiscos ball for his hatrick and the strike against liverpool, the rest have come down to scrappy poor defending goals, chelseas back pass, man citys ball standing defenders etc...

yes disapointed he has gone but for £35M its a bargin, he may be one for the future but going to liverpool at this stage in his career could cost him.

Imo all of our strikers are Championship quality unfortunetly, so more needs to be added, but I can imagine that Shola will do the job, also Best is a trier, Lover is a finisher and Ranger plays well but needs the finish. We will be fine and I am looking forward our exciting future

Top 10 finish this season hopefully and 3 or 4 good signings in the summer then we could challenge for Europe imo and Carroll would be wishing he was still here I shud imagine
