Morning all, just a couple of points to add to todays great discussion. 1) Radz/Orta stated weeks ago that the players they were bringing in had the mentalaity & character needed for Championship football. All research don & players are known to Orta's team including Riaz the other new media guy & head of European scouting. 2) we may be in a situation where we have a manager/Coach for a few seasons. I say this because if the players dont do what we brought them in to do whos to blame? Cant be the coach as heis job is to coach Orta brings in the players so Orta should be sacked Orta actually did the biz for Boro as he got the players for Karanka and they got promoted. Falling out was because Karanka & Orta wanted Gibson to buy some players for the prem but he declined & bought shyte. Happy days
English football for Adryan could've been a mismatch, hard to say, I think under a different manager Adryan could've excelled for us.....
Liked the lad myself, but not sure English footballs for him, also not sure he makes the best of his ability.
Well that's the 'orta fan club' perception, the boro perception is very different. Who's right? Haven't a clue!!!
There was another article, which I can't find where Bartley was a bit more vocal about returning to leeds but only if Monk is manager. The article below uses the past tense of what Bartley previously stated. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/05/08/leeds-united-boss-garry-monk-confirms-kyle-bartley-interest/
Was thinking the same myself but... Swansea fans told us Barrow and Grimes were fantastic, Monk relied on Pep and would fail and that Bartley was useless. To a degree they got Monk right but the rest stops there, sometimes it's just right place, right time, right blend, we can all hope...
As Xbpod has posted already on the Austria thread, Inglestad game off: http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Football/Championship/Leeds United
I they can find a pitch to play on and a referee, Leeds A v Leeds B would be a decent friendly" to assess where certain players are... assuming they can't find a team to play against. Anyone know the nature of the security issue?
This just came up recently, we're interested in Tommy Elphick. https://www.leedsallover.com/leeds-...-as-theyre-linked-to-aston-villa-centre-back/ Looks like Alioski deal is finalised and we have him. http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co....p-double-deal-ahead-of-austria-tour-1-8649229
got to do with replacing lower League clubs with Prem U23 teams ... already have some Prem U23 clubs now playing in Paint Tin Trophy ... League clubs unhappy that Harvey is pandering to Prem and not looking after the interests of his own members ... how the fcuk Harvey became CEO of the Football League is beyond me, and this latest thing will simply make Prem clubs stronger and damage the lower tier badly imagine ten FL clubs being demoted to the Conference to make room for ten Prem clubs' U23 teams, just not on ... Harvey claims it's good for the game and will improve attendances, League clubs not in full agreement ... sounds like there's promises of payoffs going on to accommodate Prem clubs, Millwall must feel very threatened Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Thanks for that LL. Not conclusive for me though. Basically says he stated elsewhere hed only return if Monk was there. None of them able to provide a direct quote. Anyway, Id say it could still happen but only on another loan deal. Dont think Rad would shell out the 7.5m or whatever Swansea want on one player
As Leeds announced two more signings yesterday, both in the attacking areas, it’s time for Leeds to start filling some holes. We have a clear issue at centre-back at the minute, with Liam Cooper the only one available for the first two games of the season. Leeds are hoping Tommy Elphick of Aston Villa can play alongside him. Elphick only signed for Villa last season and was made club captain, however he was signed by then boss Roberto Di Matteo. Steve Bruce isn’t as keen on the former Bournemouth man. It’s safe to say Leeds will be hoping Cooper doesn’t have to start any league games this season and Elphick would be a good signing, he’s won promotion before as captain of Bournemouth, so he knows what it takes. Don’t be surprised to see multiple centre-backs come in before the season starts. One thing that’s for sure, it’s good to see Leeds getting business done early.
There's this one http://the72.co.uk/79840/leeds-united-bartley-blasts-club-owners-in-explosive-point-over-monk/
Elland Back@EllandBack1 **BREAKING NEWS** Authorities have cancelled the game between Ingolstadt and #LUFC over fears the town would be overrun by Leeds midfielders.
Absolutely ristac. Right place right time is true in many walks of life but especially football. Players and managers do great one year or at one club and bomb at another. Grimes as an example has talent... but didn't show it for us.
