Gary Neville was never a brilliant player.

He was "good" no more.

 

Technically I'd say he was lacking, but he more than made up for it in terms of leadership and his winning mentality. Players like him weren't along for the ride, they were integral parts of winning league title after league title.

Brilliant player.

I'd rate him a 7/10 to 7.5/10 player.

Solid and reliable but I don't think i'd say world class.

 

In his era probably not, he was streets behind the likes of Cafu and Thuram in terms of his ability.
