You really think Ashley will opt to buy Bridge on loan with the quoted 2 million. Not a chance in hell will Ashley pay 2 million for a loanee. We may hate Ashley but he is a businessman and he will no doubt see that a permanent deal will be better in the long run.

there's a difference between a realistic bid and an unrealistic one (knowing the outcome will be negative but being seen to appease the fans).

I think we can safely say that Ashley doesn't give a **** what the fans think.

Out of interest, would everyone consider this a successful summer if we brought in Cissokho and Maiga and no one else left?

I think we've made an offer they would normally accept but they know we still have most of the AC money so are trying to jack the price up.

Relatively successfull... We still need a striker who isn't 6 foot plus, with quick feet who can cause a different type of problem. We also need reinforcements at fullback I feel, I think we tried with Naylor, though I guess the club may be waiting for another relatively quality bargain player shows up again.

One of our more successful windows if that happened.

Yes and no. Ecstatic with LB choice, but still disappointed with the striker search to be honest. I still don't want Maiga :(

I think he just doesn't fit the bill of the type of striker we're after. We've got Ba, we've got Shola, we don't need another 6 ft whatever player whose job is to out muscle defenders. By the sounds of it, he isn't very fast or very technical. We've got our big strong man, where's our little fast technically gifted guy? I just think we've got all this speed and technical ability in midfield in the likes of Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Marveaux, Obertan and it isn't going to be matched in the striker department.
Admittedly I know very little about him, but at the minute just doesn't look like the type of striker we're after. I would very very much like to be proved wrong though, of course.

Looking at him in the videos I'd hardly say he's similar to Shola or Ba. His physique looks more like Sameobi if any of our players, and he has been used on the wing so presumably has reasonable pace.

I think once the midfield gels we'll be playing 4-4-1-1 so I'm guessing Pardew wants big men with a nippy player in the hole. He could be a better finisher than what we already have for all we know.

Aye, true, but he just doesn't seem very 'nippy' to me. Not saying he's the same as Shola or Ba like, just still not necessarily what we're after. He's no Erdinc or Gameiro style player etc. I don't know really. As I say, it's not as if any of us have seen much about him really. So it's all just opinion based off a couple of crap videos! Suppose it'll be better to pass judgment when/if he actually plays for us. Just want this striker to be the perfect match is all, since we've been so desperate to see a top quality striker come in following Ba!
