Well no one can say the Liverpool owners havent backed King Kenny this window. They have just spent some £70m today and this represents a huge challenge to our current 6th spot for sure. They are going all out for a top 4 place with these players and have some big guns to help them now.

That said, we have nothing to fear and as we are in pole position, its still ours to lose. When have we ever been in a position to say we are competing with Liverpool for a place in Europe and with the expectation that we are fully justified in our statement.

I am looking forward to seeing Sessegnon and some flair and pace in the midfield and Muntari brings experience and energy. We are there currently on merit and starting tomorrow, we have a chance to lay down another marker to the other teams in the league that we are not about to collapse and give up this top 6 spot easily. Also, lets not forget Asamoah Gyan. We have our very own world cup star and with Welbeck, a partnership that many said was better than Bent and Gyan anyway.

What a fantastic season this is turning out to be.

They are panicking... Sheer panic, interesting to see how they blend.

I'm delighted with the transfer window up until now. If it remains the same, I'l be delighted tomorrow morning.

I think Brucie and Quinny are totally right not to get sucked into this madness.

£35m for Andy Carrol (who cant even play for another month) is the world gone crazy.

i would have liked to see a striker come in but not the ones mentioned and certainly not for the silly, silly money being spent today.

Keep our powder dry until August and look to strengthen again. We are 2 years into a Brucie 5 year plan and I reckon we are ahead of the game thus far. No need to panic and throw it all away for a 24 hour headline.

I still fully believe we will challenge for a place at the European table next season, right up to the very end. Whether we make it or not, the fact we are there amongst the big lads into the final run in is testimony as to how far we have come as a club.

We will just regroup and go again next season.

Spot on Cest, Brucie is not going to upset the ballance of the team at this point in the season. He has built a strong back four that hates to concede goals, now develop the midfield to give strength, creativity, speed and an ability to score goals, something we have been lacking. Now we ride the rollercoaster to the end of season and look forward to a big name striker to compliment Gyan.brilliant.

I wonder if he is going to have a go for Young from Villa?

I'm just pleased we never threw silly money at Stoke for an injury prone 30 year old, would have been a bit of a come down after Sess and Muntari. The club have done brilliantly to get these 2 in for us and with the news that Wellbeck may recover sooner than expected also, plus Campbell, Cattermole, Meyler, Turner all still to make comeback,s we are in for a tasty looking end to the season and there's no reason why we should fear the likes of Liverpool.

I certainly think we can hold our own in the top 8 for sure and if we get a replacement for Judas in the summer then we'll be challenging the top 6 next season no worries.

I agree with all said but still wish we had bought a striker even as back up. But all in all its a great time to be a SAFC supporter and am loving it. I think a top ten finish beckons and this will do me. Yes we may qualify for europe but even if we dont we have a fantastic oppurtunity to kick on. We are quickly becoming an estabished premier club thats what we all wanted. The fact we have an amazing chairman and a brilliant guy who funds the whole thing is just fantastic. All we need to do is keep striving to improve and I am sure with Bruce and co we will..........

As far as I can see, Liverpool have just offered 35m FOR the kitchen sink. I just hope for their sake Carroll doesn't put the nut on the judge next month. He's daft enough.

And lads- WE'RE STILL BUILDING! And economically too, reasonable prices, one or two bargains and still shipping out the fringe players. These are great days full of such promise I feel quite giddy. Nurse! The screens.

The Dutch league isnt a strong one and who can forget that Alfonso Alves looked like Pele in that league but couldnt hit a cows arse with a banjo for the Smoggies. Suarez may well be a flop and Carroll wont play for at least a month.

Gyan on the other hand is starting to look the business now and growing in confidence (if he ever needed it). World Class footballer.
