Morning, troops. Nothing for me today but am greatly looking forward to seeing how this Jungle Room fares. The owners have had horses with Mr Henderson for years.

Am also chuffed to see a ‘selling hurdle’ back on the agenda at, God’s own racecourse, Newton Abbot later on (3.45). The phrase that instantly springs to mind is ‘more plots than an Agatha Christie novel’!

    Good luck, pilgrims.

Sandown 3.25. Tricky race. Ayrad, decent return to the track when close up 5th of 16 (2l) at Ascot 2 weeks ago in a good time. 5lb better off with 3rd placed Kidmenever for ¾l . Won this race last year (out battling Spark Plug) and I'm guessing his first run was a pipe opener for this. 2 Question marks.

1.Last year was on gs going, this year it is gf. Ayrad ran his best race for some time on gf so should be suited. However, Spark Plug won the Cambridgeshire on gf, running on strongly and going away at the finish
    2. For some reason R Moore was on Ayrad last time out instead of usual rider Atzeni but this time Moore rides Spark Plug and Atzeni is back on Ayrad. Don't know what to read into that especially as Moore has only ridden the horse once, 2 years ago on this course

The odds for these 2 are too short to risk a dutching bet in this type of race. Gun to my head I would have to go for Ayrad because I think he is capable of an even faster time than on his return, which would take some beating. Also I think Spark Plug is not entirely reliable as to whether or not he will fight it out in a battle
