Graham Dorrans is trending on twitter after his move to Rangers for pennies. I'm glad we got rid, but he's worth more that that!
I REALLY can't believe we let him go for around half of what he was worth. Rangers board must be laughing all the way to the bank!!!
I seem to recall his wages were quite high so that might be why we were happy to get rid on the cheap?
We need - even more, to hold on for top dollar for Howson and Murphy (if he goes) as we'll now need another midfielder to cover Thompson for most if not all of next season
Seriously bad news - he was likely to be a regular starter imo. Bad luck for him - wishing him a speedy recovery.
Although I didn't like him when we had him on loan and was pretty pissed off when we actually bought him, I thought last season he really showed his value and now I think we will miss him.
Need to see how Reed and Vrancic slot in and play before lamenting Dorrans departure too much, I'd suggest? Hopefully they'll have better fortune than he did with injuries, too
Looks like Howson has gone to Boro for £6m. If he refused a new contract and forced the move our hands were tied and at 29 he hasn't got many years left in the game. Still a massive loss to one of the favourites for promotion.
His desire to head back further north had been well documented for quite a while. And he was a rock for the five seasons he was here, good luck to him. Could be the best transfer of our summer if that supposed £6m is wisely spent
Still, it looks like central midfield options are going to be Reed, Vrancic and Tettey, with Godfrey in reserve? That's a bit thin!
Shame it is to a serious rival in our division - he would have made a cracking addition for newly promoted Huddersfield !!!
Each time we were relegated I was pleasantly suprised that we managed to keep hold of Howson. Real shame to lose him, easily our most consistent performer over the past 5 years. Good luck to him! Lets see how we move on!
I have seen reports that without him we will have a more balanced midfield, not that I know anything about that, but if true, it could be good business all round!
Explaining the sale, Norwich sporting director Stuart Webber: "Jonny, via his agent, made it very clear during my first week in the job he didn’t want to be here and wanted to move back to the north. "We spoke about a new contract but he was insistent. "Jonny is a good guy who was great for this club but sometimes you have to accept it becomes about getting the best deal for the football club."
