Josh Tymon has turned down a professional contract with the Tigers and has chosen to cancel his scholarship contract, which was due to expire in June 2018. He will leave the Club with immediate effect. This is a standard clause in all contracts for this age level and the Club has no option but to reluctantly accept his request. When Josh joins another club, a fee will have to be agreed between the two clubs. Vice-Chairman Ehab Allam said: "The Club is naturally disappointed to lose a home-grown product of its Academy. We have met with Josh and his representatives on numerous occasions starting back in January 2016 with improved offers of a professional contract. I want to make clear that we have made offers significantly higher than the figures circulated by some media sources. "The Club has played a significant role in Josh's development as a player who joined us at the age of 12 and has risen through our ranks to play for England at U17, U18 and U20 level and in the Premier League. I believe he will one day be a full England international and I take pride in the work the Club has done to make that possible. This also makes it even more difficult to take having invested so heavily in his development through the excellent Academy set-up we have. We had hoped that Josh would remain with us to realise his potential. "As stated by Leonid in his press conference today, we are working very hard to bring new players into the Club with news hopefully by the end of the week. This process can take time and as much as we would like all business completed immediately, some deals take longer due to the complex nature of the transfer window. New additions will be made to the squad to help towards our aim of a return to the Premier League. "We wish Josh well for the future."
Oddschanger @Oddschanger BREAKING: Hull City have now confirmed that Josh Tymon has left the club, as his barber told us yesterday!
As is often the case, it's not actually inaccurate, it's just incomplete and as such is misleading. One thing that they can do nothing about though, is how daft they look after issuing a statement saying he was under contract, when he wasn't.
If he wasn't under contract, how can he cancel the contract? And why would there be a fee to pay? Genuine question.
The club claimed they triggered a one year extension to his scholarship deal, but Tymon rejected it and it seems the club weren't aware that they couldn't force him to accept it. There's a compensation fee due on any academy player who rejects a deal at their current club to sign for another one, it's set by a tribunal.
He's still a jumped up little ****. I don't wish him well. Have fun playing for Stoke u21's Josh. We might face you again in a few years in league 2 when you're playing for your next club.
That's all we'd have got anyway to be honest. Take the home grown lad blinkers off and he wasn't really up to much. Just look at some of his first team appearances, he never did anything of note but made plenty of howlers.
3 down. How many more will leave? Hands up who thinks Enob is a **** and doesn't know what the **** he is doing
Well, it is a pity to see him go, TWT whether he continues to develop. I have seen a lot of him in the U23's and a much of his success was due to him being physically bigger and stronger for his age than others of the same age. I truly hope he does fulfil his potential, but whether moving to Stoke is the right move I guess we will see.
