Still think the fee for VVD will be around £60m. Even so, you're getting a player who is already top class but could go onto become the best CB in the world in a year or two. Plus you're not just getting a defender, you're bringing in a leader as well. Top quality centre backs are a rare commodity today hence the price for a top bracket defender like VVD. Imagine how much other world class CB's would cost - Bonucci, Marquinhos, Hummels etc - they would cost the same.
