First 45ish second he looked like he would fit straight into our team... after that scored far too many goals
The club decided after those 45 seconds that he's the man for us, and didn't bother to continue to watch the rest.
Watched the video certainly seems to finish well , but then again de ridder looked on par with messi in his " pre signed video".
Mail reporting that Jay will join WBA by the weekend for £14m. Pretty much pays the bulk of Defrels fee. Hope he finds his form again, just not against us.
All due deference to Jay: if there was any question about where the Premier League is at financially, the fact that a soon-to-be 28 year old -- who had one good season, missed two years to injury and struggled to see playing time in his year back -- might sell for £14m should pretty well cover it.
I always hate seeing players go....I'd keep them as pets and have a squad of 105...but Jay has run his course here. Sadness at what could have been, but all good wishes for his future (except against us).
Heavens; that's a high fee for Jay. I would be delighted if we got that sum for him. Sad to see him go; not so sad to see the back of his family: the post by his brother on the news of Puel was disgusting. As for that Defrel video; watching hit the woodwork so many times made me think l was watching the second coming of Pelle! As others have posted - you cannot get too much from this other than to note he uses his right foot to stand on! He looks a tricky player and playing in behind Gabb's looks a good option. As Beefy has written; puts some pressure too on Tadic.
It will be interesting to see what happens to Tadic. He seems to have been the moody and unsettled one last season...a bit too quick to blame others for my liking. But does he seriously want a move or is whinging just in his nature and he will wait and see what the new manager is like. This will be a test for Mauricio's man management skills....Tadic can be an extremely valuable player and largely unselfish as he lives to provide assists for others. He needs an arm round the shoulder and told how valued he is. Unless we have a real gem arriving, we certainly don't want to lose him.
http://www.offthepost.info/blog/201...campaign=Feed: offthepost/TLAa (Off The Post) Spurs reportedly joining in the interest in Cedric. Just say no, Saints....he is under contract and, faced with possibly losing VVD and Bertrand, the drawbridge should be pulled well and truly up.
Sky Sports Just now ‘VAN DIJK, SOARES TO STAY’ Sky sources understand Southampton will not sell any of their top players this summer after reassuring new manager Mauricio Pellegrino that the likes of Virgil Van Dijk and Cedric Soares would remain at the club. Van Dijk has been linked with a move to Liverpool, while Soares is rumoured to be attracting the interest of Tottenham and even Barcelona. However, SSNHQ also understands that Spurs have two top targets should Kyle Walker – a target for Man City - leave the club and Soares is not one of them. One is believed to be Porto’s Ricardo Pereira.
The final nail in the coffin. Thanks for two good seasons Virgil. Good luck in future. Same to you Cedric, you've got a weird pervy smile, but you were turning into a decent little player. All the best.
