Heavily (about right too, as he is the only Footballer that I can think of that has a bigger backside than Vincent Janssen) linked with us last close season, Laurent DePoitre as been sold to Huddersfield by Porto. Apparently, his one season in Portugal makes Vinnie look like Zlatatan. Another bullet dodged.

I wonder if Huddersfield are in the market for a pacy, current French international midfielder?

We've also got a recently-capped Argentine international centre back if they're in the market...

Today's big story is "United To Make Huge Harry Kane Bid". The bid to sign him is alleged to be £100m.

Frankly, that gets you a Pogba or Lukaku. It's not half way to getting the top goal scorer in the PL and England captain, even if he was for sale. Kane's on his way to becoming a world superstar. He has the game and will be a marketing sensation being the complete opposite of a foul mouthed, granny worrying Rooney.

He isn't for sale at any price and I doubt that United have entertained the slightest hope of signing him.A complete load of old bollocks.

You're getting the hang of this now.
It's called the silly season for obvious reasons.
Cheap rags desperate to sell their papers in the close season to the football loving masses keep them interested by inventing transfer rumours. They have to be increasingly ridiculous to reel them in as they can no longer rely on bare tits on page 3 to do the job.

Some of them are briefed by the clubs to try and unsettle players and teams. Others come from players and their agents. I doubt anything further gets done to research them.

I'm sure that a lot of them are just made up to attract supporters of the clubs with the larger supports. If The Express have Diana on the front page and United to buy Messi on the back, the job's a good 'un. It's interesting to see how Citeh's gone from a team that won nothing and couldn't fill it's ground to back page news and unable to fill its ground. Could money be passing hands to run stories about Walker leaving for Citeh or Stones or others?

Yeah, agents are to blame. And many clubs are far from blameless as they want to engineer moves.
But Spurs have no interest in selling Kane for £100M. It's small fry compared to the extra revenue the club can generate from many sources by regularly being at the top end of the PL and qualifying (and then progressing) in the CL.
Selling Kane ultimately sets the club back.

As we discuss a £400m naming rights deal with some world famous companies, the issue of where the England captain has buggered off to might come up? So, we sell Harry, who's said he doesn't want to leave so that we can get £100m and lose out on a top sponsor and CL football and that gravy.

The story is so transparently bollocks but there are people who think it might be true. The way ofthe world, I guess?

Since the vast majority of River Plate's first team look set for doping bans, it didn't take long before we started being linked with other palyers from the Argentine league, namely Estudiantes centre back Juan Foyth, who has a £5m release clause - although Roma are also in the running, which doesn't make it sound as if they'll be making Fazio's loan permanent if they're looking at an U20 international rather than a recently-recalled full international.

Oh yeah, and there's rumours flying about that say Sissoko's been transfer listed...

Bit previous after one competitive game and a friendly under a new manager.
The rest is pretty spot on though.

Now I read £200 million for Kane, sigh. Kane has been known to go 7 or 8 matches without scoring and for me to pay out a huge amount for Harry then Utd are taking a HUGE risk.

All just silly season hack talk.
When a formal offer of X hundred million is made by someone for Kane,
    then talk about it.

My money is on the 'deactivate' and 'log out' buttons being far

Chelsea reportedly on the brink of singing Bakayoko from Monaco. He is a formidable player - him alongside Kante will make their midfield the best in the league by some distance imho.

Many of our rivals have been very busy already. I sincerely hope we aren't left behind as while our current squad was good enough to win the league last season, it won't be anymore by the time the new season has kicked off. We cannot afford to stand still.

I don't think we will stand still even if we didn't sign any more because our team is young and developing. Many of our players are yet to reach their peak so I would expect them to be better than they were last season. Chelsea have a lot of work to do because a number of their players are just beyond their peak.
Having said that 1 or 2 new attacking players of high quality would not be a hindrance.

I do think it will be interesting to see now Kante gets on the champions league, I know that our media adore him and I must be honest I haven't watched enough of either Chelsea or Leicester to have that much of an opinion, but in the matches I have watched he does seem to commit a lot of small fouls that particularly in our league go unpunished he may find champions league refs less accommodating of his style.
