Staring in to the distance? He's on a boat, what is he supposed to do, look at the floor?(edit -misread your point about VVD) I don't see how wishing to further your career is a dick head move, fans are too sensitive about social media.
No. Fans are rightly defensive and sensitive about their club. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. How it should be.
http://the4thofficial.net/2017/06/s...ute-brazilian-midfielder-huge-boost-can-land/ Link to City's Fernando. Probably nothing, but isn't it great to move onto players again now we have a manager in place.
The process in his head where if he kicks up enough fuss he will be sold to one of the big boys for one last payday. Or West Ham...
Not just on social media (but yes, I know what you mean). As I have always said, I couldn't give a hoot if a player knocked on the door of every fan with a pint or a bunch of flowers, and sat us down individually to explain their reasons - or burnt every bridge going, criticised the club on the daily basis, and refused to train. If a player wants to go, they can go. The manner in which it happens is irrelevant to me. I have no ill-feeling to Lallana or Lovren. And equally I have no reason to like anyone any more for leaving in a "nice" manner.
All that is fair enough Brendy but I think it is also fair for a fan to be pissed off about how a player appears to behave too. It is perfectly acceptable for a fan to have the hump over something negative happening to the team they support. No need for some to question those who feel that way.
I think it does matter how you leave....respect is everything. Anything a player has to say he should say to the club and no one else. Drama Queen pictures on the internet are for teenage girls and boys....not for adults. Leave quietly and post a nice thank you to the fans and you may be able to appear in the town again.
If you are prepared to accept a huge pay rise in exchange for a longer contract surely the club should be afforded some curtesy and respect not to mention loyalty. If you had only a year or two left perhaps then it would be the time to ask the club if they would like to make a few mil out of you but if not be prepared to complete your original contract without complaint.
Indeed. How do you get from point A, signing a six year deal & being very happy to point B, wanting to leave and being upset in just a matter of months. FFS. Very disappointed in him.
How do you know he was happy when he signed it? He may well have already wanted to leave, but that doesn't mean that in the meantime if a payrise is on the table, he should reject it. I've been looking for a new job for the past 6 months - it doesn't mean I'd have rejected a payrise or promotion in the meantime. And besides, this is far from a one-sided debate. The club benefit from Virgil signing the contract too - we can now, if Les does he job right, demand a higher price. As long as that higher price outweighs the additional remuneration paid to Virgil in the meantime, then it's win-win for both sides. I never understood the stick Delph got for signing a contract for Villa and leaving 6 months later. He always intending to leave, new contract or not. But the new contract allowed him to get better paid for 6 months, and Villa to get £8m for him (I believe that was his release clause) rather than nothing at all.
You should speak to a villa fan about Delph, so you understand the snakery involved. And as for Virgil doing us a favour, he already had a long deal in place so we just over paid for six months injury. Spin it anyway you like.
Not getting at you Fats, but haven't you argued the exact opposite about other posters views on the manager and selling players each year. Apols if I got that wrong btw, maybe it was someone else...
You've lost me. How does selling players or a managers performance relate to the behaviour of a player? I maybe holding the wrong end of a stick here
It was more about fans voicing their opinions of being pissed off with the club previously, either selling players or sacking the manager. Probs me not explaining too well atm, I've got a dreadful migraine!
Don't blame VVD at all. just like I didn't really blame any of the others. He doesn't owe us anything, has outperformed our level and deserves a move to the next tier up in terms of team (probably a few tiers up). We are what we are in terms of club, players will out grow us and players will not be good enough for us, that is football, don't really understand why some people get so attached to players
