If he goes to Liverpool, put a clause in the contract preventing him from ever playing against us, as you would with a loan deal.
Probably not possible, but let's make it as difficult as possible.

I think he will go , and where he goes I care not , as I have said before though, I wish he would stay for one more season . Then he can go with his reputation intact , not that he actually gives axstuff about that .

Skylarker is right though player power is massive . Which is a bigger problem for a smallish club like ours. Do we really have a strong enough squad that we can keep him in the reserves / on the bench ?

The idea that he will strike is all supposition...Wanyama, Schneiderlin and Mane didn't. We may decide to sell him for silly money or convince him to stay for another season. Just don't sell him to Liverpool.

We can't be seen as giving in to Liverpool's bully boy tactics, as this would be pretty poor for the club going forward. I would tell VVD that if they offer the £75 million we want, then you can gladly leave. If he goes on strike, then fine, that would stall his international career and not look good to the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid etc if interested in future. Holland will need him next season as really struggling for World Cup qualification. Plus if we get to the end of the window without selling to Liverpool, January is a long way of for a player who wouldn't have played a competitive game then for 12 months. Liverpool are making this quite personal now with , and the club need to show some balls and a bit of dignity.

With Liverpool's classless behaviour I can see LR either refusing to sell to them or sticking to a £75m price tag from them or less from elsewhere e.g. Chelsea £60m + Zouma on loan for a season.
If VVD has to be sold because he takes Liverpool's advise and goes on strike then I would much rather take option two

Differing examples: Schneiderlin wanted to leave, stayed presumably with an agreement he could then leave next year and had a great season. Berahino was effectively binned by West Brom after trying to force a move and look how his career has gone since. Wanyama and Clyne had contracts running down so we were effectively forced to sell.

Couldn't stop laughing at Micky Quinn throwing his toys out the pram on talkSport's breakfast show about Liverpool's latest attempt at getting VVD
He was insulting us the fans, the club and the board because Liverpool were not getting their own way....Skate W**ker

The Two Mikes siding with us on the mid morning show to balance things up a bit but Scouser's ringing in can't see anything wrong......Classy Bunch

The club have to take this up with FA now and get Liverpool punished. This has dragged the credibility of the game into the gutter. We should all write and complain to the BBC about ex-players abusing and exploiting their position to further the interests of Liverpool football club

Just dropped my car off at my local garage. The LFC seaon ticket holding boss is furious with his club.

"FFS, they are meant to be professionals!" said he, "they deserve a ban for being such a bunch of tossers!"

It's a view echoed by a number of my Liverpool drinking mates. I strongly think we should give their real fans what they want. 10 year ban and relegation now!

I simply cannot understand why the FA have failed to act. That lame apology means nothing. They have broken the rules. End of.

Just don't try using this line anywhere near Essex, where the majority of their supporters live! You're right. There is a "victim mentality" evident among some scousers. It's part of the negative stereotype that exists. It is also true it clouded the issue over Hillsborough. I was as delighted as anyone to see them exonerated on that one, but it doesn't change the fact that the behaviour of some associated with LFC over the VVD issue has fitted the whining whingeing image many have of scousers. It really is time for them to put down the spade. As I posted earlier, there are plenty of true scousers who are LFC fans and highly embarrassed by the behaviour of the club and the likes of Aldridge.

Antonio Conte has told Chelsea that he wants Leonardo Bonucci or Virgil van Dijk to bolster his defence next season, according to the Daily Telegraph.

It is reported that Bonucci could cost Chelsea around £50million, despite the Italian turning 30 last month.

VVD's price just keeps going up and up. £50m at 30 and with no prem experience. :emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash: (we really need a pound sign)

Aldridge clarifies that he doesn't want VVD to strike in order to get a move to Liverpool. He's quite right....he did say (in the original article) that he could strike and then went on to say he didn't like to see this happening in the modern game. He was misconstrued....there's a lot of things to annoy us in the media at the moment, but Aldridge's comments weren't one of them

With respect I think you are being extremely generous. Aldridge knew exactly what he was doing and it was all aimed at further destabilising the player. He might not have said but he certainly implied.
