Would love to see Laura Mongan's Harbour Law run well in the Gold Cup. The 2016 Leger winner would never be 25/1 if trained by a more high profile yard. 2.5 miles is an unknown but the trainer seems bullish about him getting the trip so an ew punt for me. My other pick is Consequences ew @16s in the opener. Good luck everyone.

Likewise am on Consequences in the opener , however Ryan looks a bit to big at 25/1 he doesn't ride many rank outsiders so am on the two

Also William Hill going 5/4 on ORDER OF ST GEORGE tomorrow at 8.30! <ok>:D

    Good luck all!!

ASCOT GOLD CUP - ENDLESS TIME - 28/1

Seems like I'm putting up half the field in this years Gold Cup (all notwithstanding that OOSG is the likeliest winner), but I've got to give Endless Time a squeak at these odds. Am already on Sheikhzayedroad and Harrison ante post at decent odds but Endless Time's form is pretty rock solid up to about 2 miles (on a par with Simple Verse and Order Of St George from 12f to 16f if you wish to read collateral form literally). However, Endless Time is a half sister to a 3 mile hurdles winner so you've got to think there's a slight chance that she'll improve past both of those for this step up in trip. Good luck all for a good day.

On the wrong French horse yesterday, hopefully not on the wrong Frankel today...

As a member of the Midday and Frankel fan clubs, it has to be MORI in the Ribblesdale Stakes. John Gosden has a third of the field but it is hard to see how Coronet, fifth in the Oaks, will reverse form with third Alluringly. Other than that Classic form, most of these – including Sir Michael’s filly – need to step up on form at a lower level. If 80-year-old Khalid Abdullah is watching on the TV, I hope it is not a photo finish or he might end up in the hospital next to Phil the Greek eyeing up the nurses!

I can see hot-pot Order Of St George getting turned over in the Gold Cup but I cannot decide which one of two or three of his opponents will be the one to do it as the race could be run in two or three different ways, so no bet.

ORDER OF ST GEORGE at Hills 5/4 looked a fair bit bigger than he should be so I had a dabble on too thanks to Wooly, (well I hope its thanks later <laugh> )

5:00 Royal Ascot - Ronald R 22/1 EW beat Son of The Stars (11/2 favourite for this race) last time out despite running a bit green. I can't understand the massive price difference between the two today and with 6 places on offer with Paddys i'm all over this one.

McErin/Mori/OOSG treble also on just to cover the favs. Nothing silly just £5 on to pay £187 BOG.

    Good luck everyone today

Looks a good value proposition, smokey, I like it ( Ronald R of course, not the treble, no multiples for me! )

If I may, it is I'd be pretty certain, because of the draw. Ronald R has been allotted the absolutely horrendous berth of box 1. If yesterday’s results on the straight course are any indication this is truly a terrible position to be starting from. Ronald will need to be exceptional to be competitive from that stall, methinks.

Son of The Stars much better drawn in box 20.

Well, you don't get anywhere without a bit of a risk and I'm going to put my 50p down and say Sweet Selection in the 4.20 is the best value of the day.

Here's my value picks for today :emoticon-0103-cool:

    2.30 Cardsharp
    3.05 Taj Mahal
    3.40 Gracious Diana
    4.20 Sweet Selection
    5.00 Ronald R
    5.35 Good Omen

    Good Luck all. <bubbly>

( we also have a German raider to look forward to, Savile Row, in the 3.05 - a few pence E/W just for a bit of interest I think )

    5.00 ASCOT - LESHLAA - 40/1 (betfred ew first 5)

Having had more time to study this race think Leshlaa might give a good run for the money. Showed good speed to win on the all weather over 7f and clearly stays further. Although the form is a bit of a mixed bag there is enough there to suggest that off a guaranteed decent pace a jockey in form will be able to weave Leshlaa at least into the places late on.

Hoping for a Frankel double today with MORI in the Ribblesdale and MIRAGE DANCER in the Hampton Court.

Also four other Frankel runners with SENATOR and LIGHTENING FAST in the Britannia Handicap and ATTY PERSSE and MAJORIS in the King George V Stakes.

My brain hurts looking through the card at Ascot today so I'm going small stakes on some bigger prices.

2:30 - Viscount Loftus 25/1 e/w (collateral form with Roussel who was close 2nd in Windsor Castle)
3:05 - Kings Gift 8/1 place only (4 places) - no reasoning other than its a very open race so most have a chance
3:40 - Gracious Diana 20/1 e/w (4 places) - Interesting to see how she'll go back on better surface
4:20 - Trip to Paris 80/1 e/w - Don't look the same horse but 80/1 for a former winner is too big a price
5:00 - Maths Prize 16/1 e/w (6 places) - Best RPR in the field at the foot of the weights with a further 3lb off for the jockey. Looks potentially well handicapped
    5:35 - Never Surrender 22/1 e/w (6 Places) - Half decent form, not a terrible draw

That may be the case and i'm by no means suggesting Ronald R is exceptional and also maybe its daft of me to not be concerned about the draw but at the price and with 6 places on offer, its seems, to me anyway that it represents terrific value as an ew betting proposition. Cue it finishing stone last 15 lentghs behind Son Of The Stars!

It wouldn't surprise me if they over watered the standside after yesterday!

They obviously had too much Pimms before writing the racecard comments on SportingLife.com as they state for Orderofthegarter (Ryan Moore’s mount) “Well beaten in the French Guineas two starts back but fared better in the French Derby last time and the winner of that contest franked the form here on Wednesday.”

Really? I do not remember seeing Brametot at Ascot yesterday. They mean the Guineas runner-up.

For Taj Mahal they state “Finished in front of stablemate Orderofthegarter in the French Derby last time out but still just one win from 11 starts to his name and looks like the yard’s second string on jockey bookings.”

Afaak 14/1 5.00 @ Ascot this horse owes me nothing after it's last win on soft ground. Apparently prefers good to firm which is the going at Ascot today
