This thing we all live in, call it, the universe, the cosmos, whatever. It all came from somewhere. A theist believes that it was created by a supreme being - who is mostly called god, or allah. An atheist refutes that and believes it is all explainable by science.

An agnostic believes only in that which is knowable. So, yes, by a very, very loose definition we would all be agnostics because nobody can prove or disprove either theory.

However, there's this little thing that gets in the way of that theory, it's called faith. You either have it, or you don't.

Ultimately, if you dont believe in God, that's your problem, Just like believing in God is mine.

I wouldn't be bothering with half of these angles that are being put on here just to say 'ha, I was right'

Some posters questions are loaded to feed their own insecurities.

Not all, some are genuine but many are arseholes posing questions from their ring pieces, you know who you are.

Apart from the first paragraph, You've just repeated what I said. You can't 'prove me wrong' by repeating my words dude!

Of course faith exists, that's a good thing as far as I'm concerned. It means we have believers and non-believers, there's no need for the third option, as faith is not based on facts, it's based on confidence.

I do actually believe that the universe could be explained by science, of course it can, science explains everything, even God would be explainable by science, it's humans that can't understand it, yet. That doesn't make me atheist though, what makes me atheist is not believing in god.

There are also religious folk out there who believe science explains the origins of the universe, but they get around it by slipping God in before the science!

Scientists do get things wrong..it's been proven, by their own colleagues somewhere down the line, plenty times. I wouldn't worship scientists either.

You are wrong, because you discount faith. You can't just compartmentalise the whole human race as agnostic. It doesn't work like that.

Believe what you want to believe.

And, I didn't agree with you exactly. I called it a very, very loose definition. Which it is.

True that. Most scientists spend 90% of their time trying to falsify other scientists work <rofl> Nutters.

Scientists offer their theories up to be challenged and disproved, that's kind of the process that leads to a greater understanding.

That's why I used the word 'technically'. You can pretend that I discounted faith all you like but I didn't. I acknowledged it more than once when referring to theism, but faith does not provide proof, just as a lack of faith does not disprove, so how am I wrong?

Let me guess, you're bored now.

So you've not proved me wrong, because you can't.

You've been proven wrong on your own interpretation of what atheism is and you've been shown how the entire human race can be interpreted as agnostic.

    You've given nothing back.

    Enjoy your night <ok>

    Great post Tel

Not sure what you mean @NowsufferinginSpain when you say he discounts faith. Tel refers to it right up front.

But I've had a good day that ended up with Guinness and I haven't followed your argument. I'm sure you had one. Tel did.

Bullshit. You've shown me nothing but your blind ignorance.

It was your assertion that we are all agnostics, and I'm saying you're wrong. I will repeat, go ask Spurlock, Al, Fan with no name, if they're agnostics. Go tell ISIS that they're agnostics, see how far you get.

    Let's say this...

    Faith:

To those who don't have it, no explanation is possible.

To those who have it, no explanation is necessary.
