It must be a very easy job to catch tax dodgers in Spain at the moment. Have you spent any time at Real Madrid or Barcelona in the last decade? Yes? We'd like to have a look at your taxes, then. Bunch of greedy ****ers.
I know right. Its not enough that you have an annual salary of £10m plus, but you also earn millions off sponsorships and image rights. Just ****ing pay what you owe ffs!! Pisses me right off. If its a legal loophole, like what Alan Carr was doing, yes that's unethical but thats the governments fault for having loopholes in their laws. But if its downright ****ing illegal, and you are doing it anyway, then lock the ****s up......arseholes!
They won't, though. They'll get a big fine and a sentence that's just under the limit, so they don't go to jail. There's no way that all of these people independently did the same crime, though. I dread to think how much tax some of the agents have been dodging. ****ers.
I can't imagine Jose does his own tax returns mind, but we'll see. Wait til* big JC gets in power here, every PL footballer will be getting their closets opened. He's promised his people he'll go after the tax avoiders. *Obviously not happening but worth pointing out what would happen, hypothetically.
Its the agents advising them. "Oh I can save you tons of money....." Especially with Ronaldo and Mourinho, they use the same ****ing agent, that Jorge Mendes ****. You just know he is one of the main instigators of all this.
Definitely. Him and that twat Raiola. Mourinho seems to sign everyone that's on his books. Turned Donarumma's head at Milan, then Pogba mysteriously tweets his support for him, for no apparent reason. Nothing to do with Raiola also being his agent, of course. Pair of ****ers.
Ignorance of his own financial affairs won't be a valid defence. Another example of a multi millionaire football employee taking the piss driven by pure greed. He'll write them a cheque and get a slap on the wrist #standard
Deli Alli's agent is squeaky clean mind All agents are ****s, not sure why the top two need highlighted.
At least Delli's agent owes the money himself, and didn't swindle it through his clients, implicating them too. I am not saying Ronaldo or Mourinho weren't aware of what was happening, they probably were, at least to some degree. But that Rob Segal guy's trouble stemmed from him not paying his OWN tax bill if I remember correctly. But yes, all football agents are snidey little greedy ****s, on that we can all agree.
He's a ****, too. He's just a less high profile ****. Some agents are ok. They do their job, but don't try to **** stir or tax dodge. They generally don't make enough of a stir in the media for us to remember them, though.
Exactly what they should do!.. An old friend - long dead now - was a high court judge. I remember we were discussing the Lester Piggott case in the local. IIIRC, Piggott got 3 yrs for tax evasion. David, the judge, disagreed with the sentence and said to me. "It's clear what's important to this man, money. So I would have hit him where it hurts. I would have given him a suspended sentence and fined him £3 mill". ( I think Piggott got fined far less than that) And that's what they should do with these guys, assuming they're guilty.
I've looked into stuff like this before in a previous work role, it's not as easy as you'd think tying down which country's revenue & customs is due what, given the way that deals are often structured and often players are with other clubs before the deals are finished being paid for. No doubt FIFA will devise a way to provide a hub for all financial transactions and skim their own cuts eventually.
He served 1 year and 1 day in prison. I wonder what he'd have paid to avoid that? I didn't realise that he was still alive, to be honest.
