Citeh are supposed to be bidding for Aubameyang now. FFS their team next season will be: Dodgy Brazilian goalkeeper Vincent Kompany Fernandinho Gundogan Bernardo Silva David Silva. De Bruyne. Sane Gabriel Jesus. Aguero Aubameyang Either that or they're stockpiling players so others can't have them?
Aubameyang obviously being brought in to provide experience to all those Citeh "home grown" / academy players.
Pep's just gonna Mourinho his way to a trophy by buying it and then once the inevitable is achieved with such an expensive squad, he'll be hailed as the managerial messiah yet again. One of the funniest things I've seen in pro-big club/ pro-Pep bias is when Gabriel Jesus made an instant impact, a commentator said "And what a find this young lad has been"... He cost £30m. Great 'find'.
£30m is the price of average players these days, I don't like Pep and believe he has been very, very lucky with the previous squads/teams he has inherited but can't fault him for "finding" Jesus. As far as I know there weren't queues of teams vying to buy him.
I'd agree with this sentiment. Prices are absurd nowadays. However, IIRC, Barca, Real, Juve and even yourselves were religiously following Jesus () last summer, but City moved quicker and more decisively than anyone else, and for that they deserve credit. Major clubs have such vast scouting networks these days, it is almost impossible for a player coveted as good enough to play at PL level to be entirely 'unheard of' by the time they put pen to paper. The definition of 'finding a gem' this high up the summit should be changed to: 1) Signing a player for what turns out to be an absolute bargain and 2) Having the guts to sign them before anyone else shows serious interest.
I must admit I had never heard of him until City bought him, if he was linked to teams last year I never noticed (again, probably because I knew nothing of him). Points 1 and 2 deserve a big
It means the team dies on a friday, and rises again the following monday. Much like ArsenalFanTV over the PL easter fixtures.
All the powerhouses in Europe were watching him mate. He was already in and around the Brazil squad while being hailed as the next Brazilian superstar before he'd agreed a deal at the etihad.
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-40330189 Modric accused of perjury. Strange, his character always seemed so sterling. Two of the Real 11 down, nine to go.
Rumours circulating that Barkley is looking increasingly likely to join. We're also apparently front runners for Lemar again, though it seems bookies and journalists just keep switching the leading club every 24-48 hours so I'd take that with a huge pinch of salt. Nkoudou has annoyed fans on social media after being pictured wearing a Chelsea shirt. You'd have thought after a **** debut season you'd at least want to be smart enough to keep the fans happy and avoid wearing the clobber of one of your club's fierce rivals.
I don't quite get this. Who is he going to displace in the team? If not, then will he be happy on the bench. I must also say that I've never been that impressed but I accept that a lot of pundits who (should) know what they are talking about think he's really good. I just don't see what he brings to our club - and very much hope I'm wrong if he joins!
For me he's got the talent but he doesn't have the consistency. Though the way Poch has worked wonders with English talent, I suppose there's hope that he can do so with Barkley should he join. As for his place in the squad, I think Poch may see him as a long term alternative to Dembele. Him, Winks, Onomah, Dembele and Wanyama fighting for the two CM spots is healthy competition for the club.
When the other players heard that news, apparently you could knock Ramos down with a feather..........
