It's been confirmed now. Few links to City now developing - Garcia and Koren have both played there and now Joyce managing.
My sense on the DoF is either Nigel Adkins, well regarded by Ehaw, or Rob Price, being put through a Football Administration degree at Manchester by Ehaw, and he doesn't spend money unnecessarily. I think we also have to accept that this is Ehaw's year and he is either going to make himself or the majority of posters on here look stupid. And my money is on him. He has two 20 something quant analysts holed up digging out players with good stats, he mortgages the parachute money in January, he has last year's contract renewals on ridiculously low release clauses - witness Curtis, he hires a head coach without a back room staff, he brings in Tony Pennock - a good U21 man but no-one else has seen it in him to coach the first team, he will bring back Darren Robinson - maybe to replace Rob Price running the sports science section. My prediction, and this will stand or fall on this is, half a dozen ore sales, five U21 promotions to first team, maximum loans, with a block from Chelsea, three/four cheap signings on low wages. The result will be a low wage bill team who will either blow the league away like Huddersfield did last season and make Ehaw a hero and give him loads of EPL gelt. Cue plenty of red faces on here. The alternative is that we are so crap we get close to or suffer relegation - at which point Ehaw will run away and blame someone else. Cue lots of told you so's on here. On the basis of the track record re name change, airco, north stand, west stand upper, membership scheme, etc, etc its like he is 5-0 down at halftime. But this could become a storming second half comeback. On the other hand .......................
I have just had word Darren Robinson knew nothing about this and at this point won't be coming. I have also heard he is going to be ringing radio Humberside to say as much and also talk to Ehaw.
How is this Ehaw's year? He's trying to undo last year's preseason wrongs now, he's ****ed about with the membership scheme yet again and pissed more people off. He got a manger in on a 6 month deal resulting in more backroom upheaval before we even look at player recruitment, putting us 6 weeks behind everyone else. **** me, I'd dread to think what it would be like if it wasn't his year.
He didn't have a manager in 'on a six month deal' That was optional from both sides depending on relegation or survival in the PL. As it turned out as we all know we went down it was Silva and his staff that didn't fancy Championship football and moved on. The club wanted to keep them.
Come the end of the season we know the club wanted to keep them, but was it originally optional on both sides, or did one side insist on the clause? The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Hull target former Norwich head of scouting Lee Darnborough for director of football role after appointing Leonid Slutsky as their new manager http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...t-Lee-Darnborough-director-football-role.html
Mike White @mikewhitesport I'm told Lee Darnbrough has met with Hull City/Ehab Allam on a couple of occasions but nothing finalised or signed at this stage.
Not really, he is well known in football circles and has he experience and knowledge. Been an ex scout manager would be useful to us.
