Purchased tickets at the Hornets shop this week only to be rejected at the turnstile. Helpful steward sighed and said there a lot of this today. Had to get duplicates and missed 10 mins of the match Anyone else affected by this??
Ah, we saw the queue for the ticket office and thought something was up. I've had my run-ins with them before .........
oh yes! i saw the queue too but thought it was first game of the season and people were picking up season tickets or something..that probably wasn't very bright of me lol
My friends missed the start because their seson tickets didn't work at the turnstile. Apparently, and despite original information to the contrary, their season tickets had been posted but not arrived. In the 30 minutes we were in the queue there were a lot of others with the same problem. Doesn't bode well for West Ham and the rearranged seating tonight does it!
I think tonight will be pretty chaotic without the ST problems. Me thinks there will be West Ham supporters all around the ground, and I doubt if they will be the "sit on their hands" types!
One of the funniest men I ever heard was stood on the Vic terrace near me one day. A constant barrage of wit for the whole game. He was fully decked out in his Hammers gear. On the other hand I remember the day that the Hammers fans were in the "cage" down the Rookery. Seeing as they couldn't get at the Watford fans they started to knock hell out of each other.
To be honest I think it'll be different to the QPR game because the Hammers are not in the direct vicinity with Watford FC friends(?) etc who arranged tickets for Rangers fans. It was also a Saturday, last game of the year and winning the championship etc. With the Vic end surrendered to West Ham the demand should be Ok. None the less, based on Saturday I too can see chaos tonight. Alas (?) I'm not going so will miss the fun.
Hopefully the ST issue will have been sorted after what happened Saturday! As for the repeat of QPR, I can't see it unless it is down to Watford fans buying tickets for their West Ham mates... and you can't blame the club for that! It does seem they have cracked down on 'new' fans for these sort of games, with people without a significant purchase history being able to buy them! You also feel any trouble that might occur will be less likely, and fans that bit more subdued, because of the riots!
wfcbadgemoose Watford FC Official Only very limited #watfordfc v West Ham tickets left, and it's now 1 per person to personal callers only with at least 3 bookings since 2009 Sounds like they are taking the ticket-selling very seriously after the QPR shambles! It is unlikely WHU fans will get tickets unless it is a Watford mate who gets one for them! Let's hope there are no problems!!
There was lots of talk after the QPR game and plenty of faux contrition too. I seriously doubt any lessons have been learned and fully expect to see away fans in home areas plenty of times this season.
there were problems, but nothing on the scale of QPR...understandably. What i didn't get was the amount of spare seats in the West Ham end! If they thought that was a sell-out, which they did, coz a friend of mine tried to get a ticket, how were there so many seats going begging?
there was a kerfuffel after the first goal in the Rookery...no idea what happened, it was on the other side..and then now and again there seemed to be more, but i didn't see anything serious...
Maybe the "new"ticketing arrangements plus the stronger stance against home support selling them on is starting to take effect!
