i'd have like Howard, even on a perminent deal for a year or two and then let Billy go back to the lower leagues that suit him better
Derby are interested but at the minute he probaly wont go until we get someone else in but he will go
he wanted two years from us which to be fair...i would have given him and flogged Paynter.... he is proven at this level... instead we get a loan till Jan.. Good luck this season Proud Fox...your my tip for promotion with WH
He's 35 though. I'm glad the club turned him down on this. Over the age of 32, any deal long than a year is a bad move, especially at this level.
In the summer I was in favour of selling him and getting Simon Cox from Swindon, but when he went to WBA and it got to January keeping him for the season was probably the right thing to do. I think he would get a solid 15+ goals in this league, not as many as his old strike partner though . He's 35 though, which IMO is too old for a contract of any more than a year/rolling. Also the Keogh deal is with a view to making it permanent in January if he does well.
He won't leave, none of us Leicester fans expect it to happen. Wouldn't want his ego either. Class player though.
Beckford would score 20 in the Championship without even breaking a sweat. But I doubt Everton would get rid, if they are desperate to get rid of people it'll be high earners, and Beckford is (last time I heard) only on 20k a week. Also he's been excellent for them. Him and Saha appear to be unstoppable!
I reckon he would easily score 20 goals in the champ, would be a fantastic signing if leicester got him and probably the best money they have spent this year. Highly doubt everton will let him go though
Totally agree with the comments about Beckford. As for Everton, as far as I know they didn't have any plans to sell Beckford, until Leicester came in wiith a bid they simply felt they could not turn down. They have left the whole deal up to Beckford and his decision will come before the end of August.
Skysports.com understands Jermaine Beckford wants to stay at Everton despite attracting interest from a number of clubs.
That'd because he knows his best opportunity is at everton. First teamer in the premier league vs first teamer in a team of no hopers with too much money and a senile manager
