The housing Executive here didn't even need to say they'll check all high rises, they already know they're sound because they maintain them.

Housing should be taken out of the hands of the council, too much red tape in councils and too many councillors are bent for a few quid, why do they need a company to run their property?

Work agencies all use the same fundamental philosophy. My council recently paid a company to advertise sign space on roundabouts. They literally paid a company to arrange advertising on signs that already existed on the roundabouts. **** knows what was wrong with doing it on their own and saving the money spent on some advertising agency.

This is bullshit. The maintenance of Council housing was taken out of councils hands years ago when they were ordered to put the work out to tender. Since then private companies have been doing the work and as private companies are want to do profit is put before everything else. That includes safety and quality.

I'm talking about the maintenance of council housing in Scotland and England mate. The councils used to maintain their own housing stock then the Tories decided to privatise that as well as everything else. Now we have private companies doing a **** job using the cheapest of the cheap materials and making a handsome profit all paid for by our council tax.
