Talaayeb is 13lb clear on Timeform ratings but I still couldn't be interested at 4/7, given the number of lightly raced fillies she is up against

On official ratings the old girl is 23 lbs clear of the field!

Interestingly the last 4 trainers to win this race (Sir Mick, old boy Gosden and Mssrs Channon and Fanshawe) all run fillies against the fave.

The 1,000 Guineas form is looking strong right now though as out of the first 6 home, that day, 3 have subsequently raced and produced results of won the Irish 1,000, won a Listed race and finished 2nd in the Oaks!

I think the fav is worth taking on in 5.45 at Ltown and the inform Ger Lyons stable can take this with Lethal Steps 7/2.

17:30 Nottingham - Scent Of Power

(Not easy today! This mare, from the yard of local trainer Barry Leavy, I understand is on a career low mark of 48. She has not done too well in handicaps, that's true, but has been given a chance to run a decent race today. 9/2 available in three places at time of writing. Just a modest wager).

Nicely done by Lethal Steps, these AOB juveniles are always worth taking on early in the season.Gona have a small wager on Jon Ess in the next 9/2 win.

Well there you go. 7th of 8 at 4/7. "Champion" jockey aboard too. And it didn't take a lightly or unraced filly to win it either; tut tut Timeform.
