SSN just said takeover by Fernandez is due to go through in the next few days, and the price is nothing near the 100 million previously quoted, they are hoping to have a full report later today,
Cheers Cannock ==================== Tony Fernandes: Neil Warnock has my support Simon Johnson 16 Aug 2011 Tony Fernandes is expected to take over Queens Park Rangers in the next 24 hours and has pledged his support for boss Neil Warnock. The Malaysian businessman will become the majority shareholder and is understood to be buying more than the 51 per cent stake initially discussed. The owner of Air Asia and Formula One's Team Lotus was at Loftus Road for the club's opening game drubbing by Bolton but said: "I think Neil is a super guy and he's done extremely well to have got QPR to where they are. "He'd have my full support. I think the manager should get what the manager wants." Bernie Ecclestone, who owns 66 per cent, has wanted to sell for some time and this deal will ensure he ends his ties with Loftus Road. Steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal is also set to increase his 33 per cent share but Fernandes will have overall control. QPR have pencilled in a press conference at Loftus Road on Thursday to announce the deal. The news will come as a huge boost to Warnock as Fernandes wants him to sign four players before the transfer window shuts. Meanwhile, Kieron Dyer could be fit to face Wigan in 11 days. It was feared the forward had broken his foot on debut in the 4-0 defeat by Bolton but it is just badly bruised. Dyer has been wearing a compression unit to help speed up his recovery.
Didn't Fernandes say on SSN on Sunday that a decision would be made and an announcement due in '2 to 3 days'. I'm sick of waiting. Stump up or **** off and let someone who is interested take over the club. Rant over
Good stuff, seems like the stories are becoming more tangible at last. I'm almost starting to believe it will finally happen. I like the "manager should get what the manager wants" line, let's hope he backs it up with actions.
Let's hope Ferdy has told Neil how much he can spend and that we are talking to the right players/agents already ..........running out of time

I fully agree Scrappy. It's about time this was fully resolved & we can concentate on the football team & the manager is given the funding to build a team that will keep us in the prem. In my humble opinion we will stay up, but it may be a bit hair raising at times. C'mon you RRRR'S
If money is to be made available to Warnock, why does he keep saying he'd like to bring in 2-3 premiership loan players. I presume whatever he gets given will go on their wages and not actually buying anyone!!
I reckon it's because loans meet with less resistance than transfers, and given the proximity of the transfer deadline he can shore us up quicker.
Fair enough Brix but this means players other prem teams don't want in their 25 man squads.Don't feel to confident that these players will be good enough to heal our ailing defence. Can't see us pulling another Walker out of the fire this time. But i live in hope!!
It's probably too late to recruit from the starting line ups of most Prem and Championship teams this time around. We will need to look for overseas targets if we now actually have the cash to bring in real quality. Otherwise it will need to be loans as NW indicates. Plenty of options at Man City, Chelsea, etc I would have thought.
Hope it's true about Mittal, that would suggest we'll have Bhatia and Saksena playing a role again. I wouldn't be surprised if Mittal has weighed up Fernandes and sees a chance to eventually buy him out a lot cheaper than he would have paid the Goons...
Possibly but hopefully the value of QPR will be going UP from now on, especially after a couple of new players. Also, maybe Fernandes will turn out to be a top bloke.
@sooperhoop never thought of that angle, that would be amazing for us! baby steps though.. let's get tf on board first.
